Why was Webpage Snapshot to Scrapbook created?
The Snapilicious add-on supports my website/idea (www.snapilicious.com) to be able to collect useful bits of information across the web into one place. The idea originally emerged as an online scrapbook - a direct comparison to a physical scrapbook where one would cut out useful articles and images from newspapers or magazines centered around a theme (such as weddings, travel, books etc). In this case, the scissors that would handle the job in the physical world are replaced by the addons that I have created for the major browsers (Chrome, IE & Mozilla Firefox) - the ability to "cut-out" a particular region of a webpage and "stick" it into a digital scrapbook.
What's next for Webpage Snapshot to Scrapbook
My roadmap looks somewhat like this:
- abilities to capture video using the plugins
- abilities to annotate cropped areas
- improvements in the screengrabbing process (some images are not merged)
- ability to share and download images.
