posted 3 years agoedit: Thank you for sorting that out. I have done some additional validation and found there was an issue with Firefox 85 and earlier. The required permissions to use some API features changed. I have adapted the addon to deal with this issue. Could you please verify if version 1.2.2 is working again or not?
edit: I am using multiple blockers myself and as far as I know they do not affect the working. Does the addon never function or only on a certain page / image? can you verify this by testing it on images on e.g. wikipedia?
Hi, yes something did change. The extension was updated and additional settings have been added. However this should not have had any effect on your experience. There was a minor issue with the initial update however a fix has been released version 1.2.1 is the most recent.
Please try to reset the "webp image converter" configuration in the addon's options page. This page can be reached by either clicking on the browser button on the top right of your browser window. (The button the webp image converter icon as image). Or by navigating to addon management page (enter about:addons in the adressbar) than click on the three dots next to "webp image converter" entry
In the options navigate to the "generic" and switch to a "advanced" mode than hit reset and confirm.
Reconfigure your favorite settings and try again. If the problems keep persisting please let me know

posted 3 months agoThank you for using this addon. I have investigated the matter. As far I can verify avif images are converted including those of the site you mentioned. However this site uses a protection to avoid hot linking. To avoid that other websites show images that they are hosting. This causes an issue since it also interferes with the download mechanism of the addon. Fixing this is hard since these kind of measures are site specific. However downloading them reopening and than converting works though this approach defeats the purpose of a single step solution. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18176943, 5 months ago

posted a year agoThank you for your review, detecting avif is a bit harder than other types of images since avif images can identify themself in multiple ways. Most ways are already tackled but if you found one that wasn't I am happy to hear about it such that it can be added. Do you have an example of an avif image that did not convert? - Rated 3 out of 5by Gordol, a year agoGood as far as it goes. However, it really, REALLY, needs to allow the user to set a custom save path and not force the \downloads folder path.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Angelglory, 2 years agoThis has been a god-send! WebP is such a pain to work with, so being to just convert it to something more usable has been worth the couple extra clicks.
