Working well for me Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I just added this very useful extension to Firefox 10.0.2, and so far it is working perfectly for me. One of my main uses for this extension will be for the importation of web pages into the Kindle Reader as PDF files, thereby allowing me to take web articles with me on the go. I am looking forward to see if the Kindle Reader will handle the importation successfully.

Where's the extended description? Rated 2 out of 5 stars

This add-on needs, at the very least, a better description, explaining the security risks of using it! It uses a 3rd party service to convert the HTML to PDF, and, as such, allows your potentially critical information (depending on what it is you're saving, of course) to be seen by persons unknown to you!

This should be explained in a far more detailed manner than just a one sentence description! This is far too critical issue to leave to such a short statement.

Aside from that, my other issue is that some of the pages I've saved, including the Mozilla Add-ons page for this very extension, wind up with words with letters run together due to improperly rendered fonts.

This would be nice IF it would convert more than one page. I tried to PDF a 6 page article, & it kept giving me copies of the first page! No matter where I was on the web site.

Our converter converts all web pages and we can't reproduce users bug report.

One of my best add-ons Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is one of my best add-ons. Works great. I agree with psymn though about making PDFs of pages containing sensitive information. The third party he refers to here is the developer. In other words, only make PDFs of pages and information you don't mind a stranger seeing.

works but uses 3rd party to convert, security risk Rated 1 out of 5 stars

This is one of the few PDF convertor add-on's that functions properly, but it sends your web page to a 3rd party for conversion. This exposes your information to security risks because you have no idea how long your data is held or what is done with it.

If you are saving web sites with order confirmation info, or other sensitive information (credit cards, SSN, etc.), then this information is now on the servers of an unknown 3rd party.

At worst it's a scraping operation (searching for credit cards, passwords and such) , and at best it's a poorly described and implemented add-on.

Tomas

You do not understand how webpages work and please do not confuse others. The converter do not send any information, it convert static web pages and users data are not sent because it is not visible to 3rd party services due to HTTP/HTML specification.

Not real happy to get " Could not convert the web page to PDF. Error occurred. You have exceeded 30 conversions per month limit for this month. Please visit membership web page to remove limitation "when I haven't used this thing for WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!This is now payware. You can forget about getting a sale from me. Bye Bye Web2PDF

Inconsistent success; toolbar conflict Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Worked sometimes, but not often enough on the sites where I wanted to use it to be worthwhile. After having Web2PDF installed for a while (but having disabled it and forgotten that it was installed), I tried to customize my FF navigation bar, only to have it revert after a restart to the default items. A Google search led me to a thread on the MozillaZine forum where multiple users reported that the same problem was solved by uninstalling Web2PDF. I've since uninstalled Web2PDF, and have ceased to have the navigation bar customization problem. YMMV.
