Not working for FF 54 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've just updated FF to 54 and functionality to drop anything to a cell on the grid doesn't work. FF doesn't respond to an URL address with a query but rather puts the required right as an URL itself. Take a look please.

Addon Hijacks Browser Rated 1 out of 5 stars

The addon hijacks your browser configuration, changes around your toolbar icons, and overwrites any custom addons you are running such as Classic Theme Restorer. DO NOT INSTALL, this add-on will do as it pleases to your browser/computer, download at your own risk.

Exactly what I was looking for Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I wanted a way to type my search and have it search both Google and Bing at the same time in different tabs. This works perfectly! Just set the search engines you want in the settings, click on the logo on the left of the bar and select "other" and it will search all of your engines in new tabs!

You can use it on Firefox 50 !! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I found way to use websearchpro on Firefox 50.

1. Install "Drag and Drop Zone" add on.
2. Install "Websearch Pro" add on.
3. When both add on are effective, it works!

Compatibility issue with v50+ Rated 5 out of 5 stars

After using this add-on for years, I postponed the Firefox update to 50 for some time. Well, but no way around. But there's a workaround to make it work again - just if someone has the same trouble as me ;)

I just discovered that it works well after installing (same original author as this add-on) and disabling "Activate when dragging text" there.

I guess that Web Search Pro would be easily fixed using the source for the js from for ...? :)

Firefox 50 NO DRAG AND DROP ZONE function Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Drag and drop zones just don't work in firefox 50 stable version(tested with and without e10s), meaning half of this addon is useless, please fix it ASP.

Low performance in e10s mode. Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Thank you for not left to die project ”Drag & DropZones”

Just activate e10s, and in about:performance tab you can see:

If you not use drag-and-drop function.
Nice idea searching with drag-and-drop, but low performance in e10s is killing.

Web Search Pro may currently be slowing down Firefox.

Thanks for the report! I'll be trying to address this.

More and more bugs Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Since it's not been updated since a long time, it is more and more buggy and soon it won't work at all.

If you force e10s activation in Firefox 48.0.2 or above Drag & DropZones won't display. Well, it is a major feature I need and I love this add-on for it.

I loved it but now I discovered a more powerfull way to improve all the features of it using those add-ons:

Drag & DropZones
Organize Search Engines (
Search Engine Creator
XML Search Engines Exporter/Importer

I can do all I want, create any kind of complicated search engines easily without depending on WSP server or any else.

The thing is those add-ons (mostly Drag & DropZones) will need to be updated for e10s too when it will be mandatory.

I really think energy should be focused on improving and keep updated the Drag & DropZones add-on ;-)

Keeping ahead

Thanks for the note. I love this add-on too, and I'll be trying to fix the e10s bugs before it becomes required. And the part I love the most is Drag & DropZones, so I will not leave that behind!

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very useful but it has a few bugs.

After so many years it's still working Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The only issue I have is:
when I manage engines (like adding, moving them) changes won't be visible till I click ok.

The bug you mention comes from CuteButtons, not from Web Search Pro. This bug is fixed with CuteButtons v0.4.6

One of the reason I stay with firefox! Thank you Nick (TheQwerty0)! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thanks Nick (TheQwerty0)'s helping with the project. I was thinking what's happening to the add-on, so I come back and found this great news. :)
I can't program, but I probably can help with translation!? :)
Keep up the good work

P.S. one suggestion, the window for adding search engine to drag and drop zone would be nice to be able to adjust size and sort the list of search engines, so it can be found even there's a lot of them

great add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This add-on is really good! I use Drag & DropZones quite often, which I believe is an essential part of this add-on. I'd like to give this add-on a five-star rating. A different feature of this add-on may be that users could add more than one website to one category. This is great since users are
able to drag a word onto one grid and get search results on several different websites at the same time. This makes Drag & DropZones even easier to use. Besides, Web Search Pro has its own features which are very useful. If you haven't used it before, just try it and you'll be surprised at how amazing this add-on is. Very good! Thank you again for your great add-ons! Best wishes!

Excellent and still working fine after all this years!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thanks, Captain! Glad to see you're still peeking in and keeping it alive! Indispensable! One of the first 4 exts. i install in every profile first.
Sorry about the rating Med1aN1ck left below, some people just can't find their way out of a paper bag but can't stop talking anyway!
With this ext., you can group your engines, you can rename them and select custom icons for each (handy if you have several versions of the same engines, like diff. languages, for instance). You can move them in the menu, you can resize the search bar on a fly in the toolbar, .... there are loads of other options, too many for me to mention here.
Nobody should be using Fx without this fabulous ext.!

PS. And, people, please stop posting 'bugs' here. First of all, this is not the right place, as the site suggests just above the 'write a review' box:
"Please do not post bug reports in reviews. We do not make your email address available to add-on developers and they may need to contact you to help resolve your issue...."
Plus, there are no bugs! If you have a problem, most likely some ext. conflict. Try a clean profile with WSP only and see for yourself.
Thanks Captain for years of pleasure using WSP (and Fx because of that!)!

Question mark bug? Can't select search prediction with mouse Rated 3 out of 5 stars

For some reason when I use search engine Web Search Pro adds a question mark to the word that is being searched. Also, I can't select the suggested text predictions with a mouse. I' forced to use the keyboard

Re: Question mark bug?

It has been a while but I don't think WSPro adds any ? at all? Anyways, tested this Url and it seems to work just fine:{searchTerms}

About mouse selection. Apparently Firefox's own autocomplete also does not allow for mouse selection of the suggestion after typing... Must be a bug there somewhere :(

If Rated 3 out of 5 stars

If I could find all my search engines i would call this the best search addon ever created.

When I check "clear search query after each search" and after use ctrl + Z (for return previous query) first string - search plug-in name.

By default firefox show previous query (without search plug-in name).

doesn't allow to edit search URL parameters Rated 2 out of 5 stars

doesn't allow to edit search URL parameters - for an extension this comprehensive, this is suprising

Allows editing of private search engines

A public search engine cannot be edited. If you want to fix one, just add it as a private search engine: Go to the website, right click the search field and choose "Add as private search engine" from the WSPro context menu.
