Stops ebay pages loading some times. Firefox will input the new URL into the bar however the page will not go to it, or just display a blank screen.
I've been going mad thinking it was my firewall, until i tested firefox with no addons for it to work.

Nice to watch videos always on top Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great extension. Can easily be customized to watch videos as a floating pop up window while you do your stuff. In VLC go to Tools/Preferences/Video and check "Always on top". When watching a video press [Ctrl]+H to hide controls and menu bars. In Firefox menu bar go to Tools/Ad-ons and change extension options. Reduce video definition to 240px in order to save band width.

Great addon, works well Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Would be nice if it also had a playlist support though.

Does what it's supposed to Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Simple but effective. It works perfectly with VLC portable, which I prefer but doesn't have the plugin. Mozilla is doing away with plugins anyway so this makes a good alternative. It also helps me to avoid the persistent memory problems with flash and HTML5 players that are getting worse with newer versions of Firefox.

Only downside is that some streams like those of music videos no longer work with VLC but that's not this addon's fault but a change at youtube. Hopefully the VLC developers will look into it.

Update: for those still experiencing playback problems with some streams using version 2.2.4.0 and earlier VLC.org has an official youtube parser update that you can get here:

https://github.com/videolan/vlc/blob/master/share/lua/playlist/youtube.lua

Right click the link from where you see "Raw" to download youtube.lua then locate the lua/playlist directory in the VLC folder, delete the existing youtube.luac file and replace it with the latest youtube.lua. You may have to add the extension .lua to the name when downloading it. That should resolve the errors.

Pretty good, but doesn't open current page Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I like it, it's super useful. The reason I give it only 3 stars is that it *never* works when I try to watch a video in a Youtube page I'm already on (the "Play current video" feature). I have to get the link from another page, which is sometimes not possible.

The nice thing is that if there is a link on another page, it's just way nicer watching in VLC than with Youtube's crappy video player.

Multiple instances opening up... ugh. Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I love this extension, but can't really use it because it keeps opening up additional instances of VLC every time I add YouTube link instead of adding to existing queue, can someone give me a remedy or can this be fixed on next update? Many thanks to the developer, this would be a dream extension for me, but not "as is".... G BTW this is for a Mac.

Works but not perfect Rated 3 out of 5 stars

When I right click on a Youtube link the context menu items of this add-on are first, which is quite annoying. I would prefer them to be under "Open Link in New Tab".

It would also be handy if it would work with raw videos, eg. MP4s.

great BUT Rated 4 out of 5 stars

fantastic essential, However, possibly with recent FF updates, this plugin stalls the closing of FF, and sometimes will cause a FF crash reporting "Shutdown too long, possibly froze, causing a crash"

Please fix the CPU usage bug Rated 1 out of 5 stars

This addon uses a significant amount of CPU cycles even at idle with a single empty tab, enough to turn up the fan on my laptop.

stopped working for most Youtube videos Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I honestly couldn't find a way to report this bug - the linked GitHub page doesn't have an issue tracker, and no e-mail address is listed anywhere.

Most videos I click on Youtube these days report a 403 forbidden message in the VLC log. This started happening roughly three months ago.

(I checked CPU usage after seeing the latest reviews mentioning it, but for me it seems like it's a difference between 1% and 3%)

Massive CPU Hit Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Causes Firefox to peg CPU core 1 (100%) and 50% core 2. Took a while to troubleshoot and find this offending extension to remove it. Never even tried it for functionality because I would not use anything that drains resources to this extent. Should be fixed or taken down..

Thanks for the feedback, it seems that you are not the only one with this issue. I will look into why it takes so much CPU power.

Great but consumes an anormally amount of CPU Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I like it but I don't use it because it uses too many CPU on FFx64 on W10.

Needed & mostly works Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I'm rocking some older (but quality) hardware so I prefer to use something else then Youtube's or Adobe's bloatware. This add-on helps a lot. Some Youtube's sidebar (related) links doesn't seem to work (quite a few) but other than that it's very nice.

Works, but ... Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I don't know why, this addon take several cpu procent :( on Linux

Excellent Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Your add-on is a godsend for those with an older computer.
Can you please add support for the mobile links as well? Like these: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=******* Your add-on seem to ignore those links, but if you paste the link into VLC manually it plays it perfectly.

Works well Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Upgraded to VLC 2.2.0 Weatherwax (64bit) and this extension works with it for most everything, however, the links that I get in e-mail (from youtube subscribed channels) do not give me a right-click context option to open in VLC. Can we get a fix on that?
