Guys please add new version to market. Without vimperator I feel crippled too
This plugin is just awesome. Firefox is another app where I can use similar navigation like in vim. When I sometimes use FF without vimperator I feel crippled:D Following hints is really smart with narrowing hint number by typing text.
Makes browser faster.
Too bad vimperator isn't going to work with new versions. I'll have to use alternative builds.
I've been keeping up with the tab fix for FF51 on github, but as someone on windows, I would have to go out of my way to build it from source. Really hoping you guys can get this amazing addon up here soon!
Though not working in firefox 51, i've changed into the latest esr version and that works well!
"The issue is that there isn't a lot of incentive to do so especially since in firefox 57 the current addons will be disabled and only web extensions will be available."
So, will you develop a version to work for web extensions in the future?
Maybe. Unfortuantely, webextensions are missing a lot of the functionality that vimperator relies on. Unless new features are added to webextensions, the vimperator for webextensions will be a pale imitation.
On top of this, there is not a lot of developer resources around vimperator right now and we are barely keeping it afloat as new versions of firefox come out.
The only addon which makes me stay with firefox
Can't imagine firefox without it.
Vimperator is such a powerful addon!
Is it still possible to make it work with version 51?
How can we help developers to overcome this dreadful e10s? Would a financial contribution help (maybe some kind of crowdfunding)? Or is it beyond that?
There's a new release pending review for firefox 51 support.
Unfortunately, I don't think financial support will help. What really needs to happen is more developers helping out to refactor vimperator for e10s support. The issue is that there isn't a lot of incentive to do so especially since in firefox 57 the current addons will be disabled and only web extensions will be available.
today， it dosent work on my new Fx which is update yesterday. My FX version is 51.01. Please fix it.I love this addons.
Powerful and useful addon
FF51: Version 3.15.0 of the addon is broken with regard to tab features. But the devs are working hard, see https://github.com/vimperator/vimperator-labs/issues/568 for fixes and also workarounds via .vimperatorrc.
Using it for years now and will never drop it.
My favorite FF extension don't works after firefox updating. Hint tabs don't works. Fix it most useful addon please!
navigating/closing tabs, following hints seems to have broken with an update to Firefox 51.0
Excellent!!! updated 3.16, it's working, thanks a lot for gkatsev, very good job.
Must have addons for power user. enjoy browsing mouseless with this addons. Handful of features , much better than vimFx ..
can not open liberator://help/options with the option button on about:addons page
Please maintain Muttator for the newer versions of Mozilla Thunderbird.
must have for vim users
Fantastic addon, works very well most of the time. Occasionally new updates to Firefox can interfere with its functionality, but most problems are usually resolved before or shortly after official Firefox releases.
This is THE must-have add-on for any vim user. Actually it is THE reason which I keep using Mozilla Firefox for.
I've tried many different implementations of vim commands in numerous web browsers and I find Vimperator to be the greatest of all, much better than for example Chrome's Vimium.
Thank you very much for Vimperator and congratulations for your work. :)
This review has been written and submitted without using the mouse. Well, actually I had to use it to give 5-star rating.
Install also "NumberedTabs" add-on for easy tab switching.
I'm an avid vim user and I find vimperator to be very intuitive. Most of the time I don't have to think about what I'm trying to do, since the author did a really good job of translating vim commands into web browser actions. But, if I can't think of a command, the command bar is accessible by typing ':' (just like in vim), which is a wonderful feature when I forget the keystrokes for a particular command.
I've also tried vimfx and I found that shortcuts were not intuitive and I had to frequently review the help page to figure out how to perform some action in Firefox.
Thank you for this great add-on!
