  • Now can't edit the previous post just the first go figure... There's a download from the context like you said before sorry. Takes just a little time as it is the second drop down context menu but that's a good price to pay since it's much easier to put the cursor over it. Less chances of missing it now! Thank you again. It's a very fine piece of software full of features from which I only use the download for now. Cheers.

  • Thank you very much for your quick reply Miguel. Yes it's the triangle which is too small (to me). In the context menu doesn't show the video.flv [HQ18]video.mp4 etc. You see I think the most important thing are the downloads and you've put things like knowledge base, tutorial videos in front of that which is something a user does it just once or maybe never. That button in top of YTube video also downloads just the low quality flv. You can't choose once again the hq18/35 from there. Is there a forum or something out of this mozila page?

  • This add-on is very helpful for me. I use it almost every day. Just go to almost any website with a video on it and then just click the button, so Simple!

  • Update: got great support from their team by sending them a message. Just had to deactivate "Detect Youtube High

Quality". And this is all free !

Great software but doesn't work anymore with Youtube (takes 3 minutes to start a video).

Was using it for a long time.

  • Since the first week in June, this extension has made it impossible to use YouTube. This is s surprise because I've been using it successfully for months.

I'm 100% sure it's this extension because as soon as I disable it, YouTube works fine again.

Somehow I suspect that the problem has something to do with the fact that I'm also using Kaspersky Internet Security 2009, but I can't prove it.

Anyway, its a shame because this extension was working so well. It seems other people aren't having this problem, so I'm giving it three stars.

  • pay pay pay

    Video DownloadHelper is free.

  • This a great help and does the job of downloading video files perfectly and smoothly in the background. \

  • keep doing this! You developed a very good add-on!

  • После обновления до последней версии стало тормозить на YouTube. Проверил все дополнения, поочерёдно отключая, и точно...тормозить стало к сожалению из за последнего обновления Download Helper.
Как не обидно, но пришлось временно деактивировать из за этого.

  • Excelente, indispensable

  • Hello, guys.... Don't want to pay for that over priced garbage they are trying to sell you ? Just download extra codecs on your computer to run these formats. An example would be: "http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm" this codec pack allows you to play almost any form of media out there on the internet with any media player you have, including, but not limited to, Windows Media Player, Winamp, iTunes, and even VLC (even though it has most of the codecs already. So all you do is download the video, save as .flv, and watch it as you would a .mpeg!

  • este complemento esta bien hecho pues me deja bajar los videos que me gustan de la web,

  • very good!!!

  • Very reliable and nice download action, and thanks a lot to your efforts for everybody's conveniences.
I may really will donate to you if I got chances to support. Meanwhile, I just can only express with my comments that I do appreciate to your download helper supports.

  • My favorite add-on! Download ALL the videos on one page at the same time, then watch 'em whenever you want and however many times you want. Or save 'em to a portable drive and take 'em with ya. Awesome work mig!!!

  • I can't give more than 3s because of the damn small download button. How can a button be so small?? The most used feature of this add on which is the flv etc download is done thru a bloody tiny button how can that be? The button next to it simply makes a list of movie sites. Who needs that in that place?? what's the use of a movies site list in the nav bar? You could put it somewhere else couldn't you? Or maybe swap it with the download button I just can't understand how no one pointed this out...

I presume you are talking about the small triangle that appears next to the icon. It's small yes, but it's the Mozilla standard widget.

Note you can also invoke the services through the 'Tools' menu, or the context menu (right click in the page). You can as well use keyboard shortcuts.

  • A beautiful Piece of Software, Simply Amazing. Thanx Buddy

  • I personally like the whole list of video sites which u support. One stop shop for streaming video site list for me. :D thank you

  • Its simply fantastic. Very easy to use. I really love it. Keep it up guys. Great job!!

  • I was never able to get it to work. Seems I was missing some little external program. At their own directed web site there was no install feature which was also the case to the site they referred you to. Really sucks.

    Developer response

You don't need an external program to use DownloadHelper unless you want to do video conversion, which you enabled explicitly (this is not the default). Just disable the "Conversion" feature in the extension preferences.

  • Is it possible to add support for Brightcove videos? (such as those featured in wired.com)

  • I love this add on!
I was wondering is there any chance in the future to add BBCiplayer to the list of downloadable sites?
I would really like see that if its possible.

  • Works ok, does what it should. Can't download FLASH though :( Pay for an add-on? Time to put down the crack pipe John.

  • keep developing and this program is so cool!

    fighting!!

  • This program rox!
