Just use the good old &fmt=18 method:

go to the youtube video you want to download and add

&fmt=18

to the URL, for instance

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hx1BmK81Ygk&feature=topvideos&fmt=18

then press enter. The page for the video loads again, and now DownloadHelper offers you

video.mp4

Rename the video yourself after download.

This Add on is real cool ... just got it and its working good so far ...
was waiting for something like this ...

It really pissed me off when I converted a video (wasting all that download/conversion time etc. only to find an UGLY icon (balloons?) superimposed over the upper left corner of the video!
This is nothing more than crippleware.

I immediately uninstalled it.

Ridiculously bloated . If I wanted to convert the videos I would use mencoder or ffmpeg. Unfortunately it is still the bast of a bad bunch.

Also when disabling "Smart Naming" in the Options, the "Smart Naming" menu still appears on the right-click menu.

Yes, I've been using this add-on (Video DownloadHelper) for months now and it's one of the most useful add-ons for Firefox but, ever since I Downloaded the Updated Version it doesn't many of the features I got used to in the Older Versions (Like Record in HD for YouTube Video's) but, it's still an Awesome add-on none the less.

Ease of use but a little bit too slow. If combine with DownThemAll will be one of the best Video Download.
