DownloadHelper does not requires to install the converter unless you asked for conversion.
You can always set conversion off (as it was before you changed it) in the preferences, section 'Conversion'.posted 9 years agoDidn't seem to work for me, but that's okay. I found another plugin that did what I wanted. I only needed Facebook video, not hundreds of others, so I'm now using the "facebookvideo" plugin, which is also available from this site.

DownloadHelper can capture videos from facebook. At least it works for everyone else.

Are you sure you are running the latest 4.6.2 version ? Apparently it works well for everyone else.

troquei por um que não faz istoRated 2 out of 5by nadupoetsch, 9 years agoUpgraded everything to latest version: DH 4.6.2, FF 3.5.2. Installed. Shut down computer & rebooted, even. Checked settings, cleared cache, everything possible: HQ Mp4 vids are simply not showing up in options for YouTube. :(

Thanks a lotRated 5 out of 5by phani, 9 years agoThis used to be a good program. Now it's a come on to buy a conversion program. No longer can you just download MP3, MP4 or other file types. And unfortunately, the older versions that worked well and were free no longer work with FireFox.

This is wrong ! You can download videos for free without limitations as it has always been.
We have a converter program which is a separate program. This converter has a commercial version (on Windows only, it's free on Mac and Linux), but you can also use the free version without much limitations.posted 9 years agoI love using Downloadhelper with Mozilla Firefox (3.5.2) to download videos from Xvideos.com.
On a more personal note, I work for a computer repair business (I'm a A-Plus Tech). I recommend Mozilla Firefox to all the clients whose computers that I repair/fix/speed-up. The Downloadhelper plug-in is the first plug-in that I recommend that all users get when installing Mozilla Firefox.
I just want to say Thank You for all the hard work in making this Awesome Plug-In and for making it available for people to use.

Rated 5 out of 5by blaredsoul, 9 years agoThis add-on is definitely a life saver. It really is useful if you have to get information from a school website for homework. Rather than looking at the site for video lessons you can just download them from the site and save them for reference later.

Firefox says "This add-on will be installed when Firefox is restarted." but I can restart FF again and again, the addon is not installed :-( The only possibility I have is to cancel the download...
