Very useful, although the limitation of being closed source (I think) and only having a set of supported sites doesn't allow its use in specific sites, such as InfoQ. I was also surprised that it wasn't listing the possible media files in blip.tv, so, it only offered the chance to download all the media files.

All in all, it is helpful for watching videos without the normal interruptions when you try to watch online.

NOTE: I'm using DownloadHelper version 4.6.2 on Firefox 3.0.14, on an Ubuntu 9.04 Asus Eee PC 901.

Doch der "Video Download Helper", gibt mir die Möglichkeit mich dennoch den Themen zu widmen und diese auch festzuhalten, welche mir sehr wertvoll sind. This is great add-on. Can download, many FLV, MP3 as well as other objects embeded stream data. I recommend this to many friends. Then, as result, many moved to Firefox from IE. I can't live with my PC without DownloadHelper.

very nice tool, I used it to download few videos from youtube, but it kinda froze the website whenever i need to search or watch another video the page takes long to open, that only happens with youtube. does anyone know why this happens and is there a way to fix it?

Very useful add-on. Many webcasts from IEEE site can be saved using this.

after installing download helper firefox slowed way down and started crashing to the point where you could not log on for more than a few seconds. uninstalling it fixed the problem.

It's pretty good but it doesn't work on other formats even though i downloaded the converter thing :(. But it works great with FLV!

the very first thing i have to say is that this is most useful add-on ever since firefox has been created. I really cannot understand the people yacking on not-converting to so many other types, there really are thousands of sites doing this. the most important thing is though that you can download the videos nearly from all the sites having embedded videos. this thing is crazy. thanx 'lot mig!!!

I have been using this add on for quite some time. Overall I find it to be the best video download program I have used. If you are downloading a version of the video other that the one loading in the flash window it is easiest to set the download. Then navigate away from that page to save bandwidth.

This add-on is probably one of the most helpful ones that mozilla has to offer. Alot of the stuff that you see on youtube are things that you wouldnt be able to normally download but this add on completely changes that soo i recommend this add-on to everyone who uses mozilla. Thanks ALOT to the creators of this i really really appreciate it. :)

I have a love hate thing going on with this download helper' I love the fact that you can download any video and convert it to different formats' I hate the fact that the only way you can convert them to mp3 format is you have to register it which mind you isn't very cheap' 28.50 in my book is a lot of money just to register a application' the only benefits it gives you is the logo is no longer there' convert videos to mp3 format and customer support' not very much benefits' the quality of the videos are a letdown as well' the sound is rather choppy and the mp3 just doesn't sound very good' overall it does what it says it does which is good but if you want nice quality vids keep looking it's alright but it's not great.

Quirky product. Example: in youtube You click to download a video, but then it hangs. But if you navigate away from the page of the video you wanted to download, it starts. Of course, in the meantime you'd think that it wasn't downloading, so have clicked to download again, thinking it didn't go through. So then you find out you have requested another download, and it starts processing.

Video quality is okay, though.

I wish Real Player worked with Mozilla 3.5 and higher. I want it back.
