Simple install and (once I noticed the 3-ball icon on the tool bar) very easy to download a video as an mp4. This worked nicely on Linux Centos 5.3. Unfortunately this add on does not work on cnn.com :-( but works like a champ on youtub.

Go to this website to get a greasemonkey script that downloads youtube videos to flv, mp4, and real time mp3! The link is http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/57074

Rated 5 out of 5by worngee, 9 years agoI love download helper, but lately the icon does not appear in my toolbar. The space where it's supposed to be is still there and the title "download helper" is still there, but the colorful balloons are gone and i cannot download any videos. Help!!!

Rated 5 out of 5by Eshita13, 9 years agoIt seems to work quite well, downloading different kinds of video files, etc. However, I activated the file conversion feature, and then mistakenly tried to convert an AVI file to AVI (not realizing they were the same). I got a "conversion error" msg. But, now my original file is completely gone. Ouch!

i need sum1 to tell me if i can save the download queue list so dat i can resume downloading all d enqued links when i restart my computer again..
i think it wud b better if it had a drag and drop option to enque links for download.
plz help...Rated 4 out of 5by guitarpunk, 9 years agoIt was a great add-on, and the easy downloading of Youtube was a great function both in idea and execution. However, versions 4.6.* no longer work for me, displaying nothing in Media submenu, no matter what the site. I can still use older versions, but that means no Youtube, which reduces it from great to "merely" good for me, unfortunately. :(

Rated 3 out of 5by jungle , 9 years agoDownloads videos from almost any websites (and this is free). This is huge, because even the paid video downloading programs have limited websites. You can also convert the videos, and there are many more functions to make things easier.
Only one minor bug: In YouTube when you open videos for the 3rd or 4th time, Firefox (3.5.3) does not open the page or takes a very (very) long time. Only way to avoid this is to disable this add-on.Rated 4 out of 5by Codename K , 9 years agoIt's in one word "WONDERFUL". It has made my life easy.
