Wish I could shoot people some monies to support things that really matter but...I can't.

The greatest innovations always come from the private sector and this addon is an example of the importance of the sacred individual and his/her unlimited reach on this world that has become increasingly small, hand in hand with our (humans) increased ability to mold it to how we see fit.

VDH is great. I can't donate because I don't have job or any source of incomes at now, but I'm really grateful. This tool is really one of the most useful add-on ever done.

This download program rocks. I've used others that also did a good job, but I like the much more various options this software provides including conversion of files which saves me time.

I wanted to donate to the owner of this plugin, but chose to give an honest review instead as I lost my job nearly 10 months ago and money is more than tight right now.

Anyway, great plugin and tons of options. Can't say enough good things about it!

The youtube videos downloaded are not immediately queued to the Firefox download queue and status bar link. This is confusing often resulting in redundant download entries and automatic replacements of a video.

My personal improvement would be: to be able to download pics which you can choose by clicking on them whilst they are highlighted.( Sorry if you can already do this but i havent figured out how to do it yet ;)

THE GREATEST!! The best browser tool I've seen. It can capture almost video you can view in Firefox. It's free, but they deserve a donation. I've paid for software that does a lot less. A very few videos appear in a separate window that won't allow Download Helper to capture it, but this is rare. Regarding it's not converting video formats, this is only a minor hindrance. There are many programs that convert video formats. All of them reduce video quality somewhat. You can find free software to do this by searching Google for "convert flv files". Or you can just get an flv viewer (also free).

Download helper has been a godsend in acquiring clips that I've needed for teaching courses and mentoring students.

I wonder why I can directly save YouTube videos as mp4 file with Fast YouTube Download while I have to go through a long conversion process with Video DownloadHelper to actually get something different than flv-files. And as long as these flv-files arent HD-videos you can rename them to .mp4 and they play just fine with Windows Media Player 12. So I really wonder what this Firefox Addon was made for...

I started using this a little over a year ago. It was immediate satisfaction back then, and it just doesn't wear off. I had just bought a new laptop then, and it came with Windows Vista, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I normally use Ubuntu (and I didn't stick with Vista for more than a week or so). I tried to find an application to download videos and to convert videos so I could watch them on my mobile phone. I found some, none of which did the job properly and all of which were proprietary and with a price tag.

Video DownloadHelper was the application that made me think that Free Software was no longer an alternative to Windows for me, but something I actually couldn't do without. It's very easy to use (I thought a very non-geek how to use it in less than a minute). It handles most all the sites I need it to handle. I am a huge fan. Big thank you to the author(s).

Music and art is meant to be shared, and the artists need our continuing support (as do the programmers that bring us this too), so, please... buy the artists work (DVDs, CDs, etc.), as you're able, and support VDL, too. Your reward will be higher quality than the MP3's and MP4's posted online. For stuff not available for sale, Video DownloadHelper is a great tool!!!
