Great Addon.. really good

why can't i download videos from myspace anymore

Excellent tool

I have been using vdh for quite a long time on both Linux and Windows. And it works awesome. But, recently for the past few weeks, vdh could not detect any video stream.
Is it because I upgraded FF or what? I upgraded vdh also, but still for some flash player streams, the logo did not turn on to detect any stream.
Or is it because of the flash player? It has been somehow enhanced to not let any'thing' able to detect the stream? Please fix this. VDH is the most favorite-must-have add-on for me. Thanks.

this was the best video downloader out there until recently i updated firefox and this now it wont work with myspace video anymore which is the only reason i installed it in the first place so looks like i need a new video downloader

This has to be THE easiest and best downloader of .FLV files I have ever used! Well worth the trial run and test. Works on far more than just YouTube. Almost all flash video sites can be captured and recorded. Try it and pass it on to friends!!

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!! DownloadHelper has played THE key role in the development of my awesome music library. DownloadHelper in conjunction with my favorite music and video sites has been unstoppable! I read above that it no longer worked on some U-Tube media, and to tell you the truth when I discovered the download software and showed a few computer nerds I know, we said "this cannot last" ...but to my amazement it has! THANK YOU DownloadHelper and the development Team that has provided this software free of charge! I recommend the program to all my good friends and ask them to donate once they see the power of DownloadHelper!

Muy buena herramienta que digo buena, es excelente y si te registras te permite descargar las canciones y videos practicamente de modo total. Ahora si quieres que dichi programa sea al 100% manejable tienes que obtener la licencia y asi puedes convertirlos esos videos que no son los oficiales de algun artista , y por lo tanto sol oquieres el audio(mp3) y pues Downloadhelper lo hace posible .

This add-on doesn't work with YouTube anymore, at least with Firefox 3.6. What I mean by "doesn't work" is that even if the downloading functions work, it stops me from navigating throughout YouTube, either asking me to download the next page "watch" as an application/octet-stream or loading the raw html into the browser window as plain text. I can't find any options to fix this, and it happens just for having the add-on enabled, so I'll have to stop using it. It was a great add-on for a while, though, besides being unable to turn off the Smart-naming context menu item while still leaving the Smart-naming function enabled (it takes up unnecessary context menu space and has a menu icon glitch which makes it look ugly).

This is a great product. If I had the means to donate, I would really consider a great value. Anyone who uses this will really appreciate how nice is works...

It failed as a (1st time install) on Firefox 3.5.7.
After I clicked on restart to install it, Firefox closed but it did not restart.
I manually restarted Firefox, but DownloadHelper 4.7 was not installed and the add-ons tab was still asking for a restart to install it, which failed again.

I restarted Firefox a few times and I was finally able to see DownloadHelper 4.7 listed in the add-ons tab, but it said that DownloadHelper 4.7 was not compatible with Firefox 3.5.7 "yeah thanks I noticed that!", I could not uninstall it either, as the restart button in the add-ons tab still failed to restart Firefox, which just left it sitting there.
I had to use system restore in the end to get rid of it.

I then installed an older version of DownloadHelper, (4.6) and it installed successfully.
I don't fancy trying to update it to version 4.7 right now in case It happens again.

Other than that, I have used this add-on (on a different PC) with no problems whatsoever for years and it rules as a flv down loader.

this is one of the best add-ons thats free. i recommend to any of my friends who is having a downloading problems over any site on the net.
