Yeah! It would be realy great if it downloaded all sreaming videos, but that is not the case. It doesn't do any better than RealPlayer. It fails wher RP fails. So... just one useless more to the haystack.

wuauuu nunca antes un programa me habia ayudado antes descargar videos y canciones en cuestion de segundos y almenos se lo q descargo y no como me pasaba en ares q descargaba alguna cacion y cuando veiua era un virus pero les recomiendo este complemento para su navegador mozilla esta rechido felicidades!!!!!! y gracias

cela fait un petit moment que j'utilise download helper et je viens ici féliciter les dévelopeurs de ce module . C'est raiment bien utile et pratique. J'aimerais contribuer à ma mesure (financière) mais je ne possède pas de carte bancaire par contre par chèque je pourrais . Apparement in n'est pas possible d'avoir une référence postale . Donc quand je trouverais quelqu'un qui veut bien me prêter sa carte je penserais à vous.
En tout cas bravo à vous et bonne continuation!

I LOVE this add on. I've searched a long time for a Youtube-downloader like this and now I've found it. And the idea it can download from any video site makes me love it more! Thank you very much for creating it!

I had download helper version 4.7 ,with some problems specially with You Tube, sluggish pauses and some frequent odd messages upon starting to watch a video, then as advised by the last paragraph of this article on this page, I replaced it with version 4.8a1, like a miracle all problems were over, not only with You Tube, but other video websites incredibly became faster

Finde euer Add-on wirklich klasse. Jedenfalls bedeutend besser als diese ganzen webbasierten Downloader.

I really like this extension, when it works. For the most part it works exactly as stated. Every now and then it will lock up Firefox. I'll have to kill Firefox, reopen and then it works. Seems random since it happens on different web sites but once it's killed and restarted I'm able to download the video with no problems.

To be honest, I really love this thing. It allows you to download various media files off the internet, and best of all, it's free.

Slows the HELL out of my browser(only video sites, i think) so much that youtube videos do not load until several minutes. When I am watching youtube videos and am not downloading anything I disable this addon. NOW TO THE GOOD PART It DOES work very well(even with megavideo which makes me LOVE this add-on) so about a 3.5(or 4) out of 5 :) I just wish it didn't slow youtube down SO much, so that I don't have to disable and re-enable so often, but I can live with that. It'd be cool if they'd fix it though :-\

Still doesn't want to download from the cache, even you you chose the cache item from the dropdown list, it will start downloading from scratch.

I've been using DownloadHelper for ages and I've never got any problem, but people are right about 4.7 version: it does have an annoying bug regarding youtube . Videos just won't play. Adam's tip didnt solve for me either, and the only solution was to come back to 4.3 version. Any version above 4.3 has the very same bug

I can confirm the problem with YouTube. I have Firefox 3.6 and I had to unistall Video DownloadHelper 4.7. I couldn´t open "view all comments" and some videos on YouTube.
Purportedly it´s OK with the version 4.3, but this version isn´t compatible with Firefox 3.6, what I have...

Good tool. But there is the problem with youtube.
The solution by Adam Short did not work for me too. With the latest versions of DownloadHelper it is just impossible to navigate on youtube. I have tried to install several older versions - and finally the version 4.3 of DownloadHelper works fine with youtube.

I have had exactly the same problems ... Took me hours find out that this complement was working badly.

I have been having problems with the Youtube site, getting pages full of code instead of videos when opening a video in a new tab or window. After some trial and error I finally narrowed the problem down to the downloadhelper plugin. As soon as I got rid of downloadhelper the problem ceased

I have been using this add-on since its first beta release and it just keeps getting better! If you run into a website that plays hard to get, try this workaround to download the movie. Click: Start->Run->Type: shell:Cache->Delete ALL items in Folder->Close Folder->Watch your desired Video in IE from start to finish->Repeat the: shell:Cache step and look for your video (should be .flv or .swf ) Cheers!

Solution from Adam Short didn't help me. It's Download helper that causes the problem, but putting youtube in black list doesn't help. It began here after the last update.

Es ineteresante como este complemento facilita la vida, sin tener que recurrir a una serie de programas y códecs que a la mayoría de los usuarios les cuesta reconocer y encontrar. Basta con decidir cual es el video que se quiere descargar, reproducirlo y convertirlo. Quizás el único problema que tiene es que no desactiva el reconocimiento del video en cuanto cierras la página, y reconoce todos los videos que tienes abierto por pestañas. Sería excelente que solo reconociera el los los videos de la página que visitas. Pero, finalmente, es un problema muy menor cuando lo sabes usar y es una gran ayuda.
