What has happened to Video Downloadhelper ? The only extension it now detects on You Tube is .flv, no .mp4 any more ... Its been like this for weeks now .. isn't there a fix ?

I was looking for SW to download radio shows and couldn't find anything the does the job what I want easy and fast. I found one user from MAC forum referring this software to another member who was asking for software to record streaming audio. I was skeptical at first as I only wanted to record audio, not videos as its name suggests. Much to my surprise, it really does a pretty good job and do it really fast. And UI pretty straightforward; So no need to concern over getting lost in nested menus or enigmatic icons. Thank you very much for writing such a great software.

I did 200 video clips now, mostly from Youtube if Youtupe Downloader is failing and the rest on all clips I needed to have for my collection. It works whit ease and and I always rename the .flv to .mp4 to make it run for ordanary apps. Must have for your Music Video collection or just for collecting funny vids at ease..!
(Make sure you have a proper download speed (1 or 2 MB/sec) for normal downloadspeed (+- 1 min.) for HD Music Clips)

Been around for some time. Works well. Easy to use if take a little time to understand it (lots of options). They keep it updated. I find it very convenient. Just try it. (Oh, and its not slow at all... if you are having a download speed issue I suggest its something else ;^)

Doesn't convert the videos
It takes forever to download a clip (no matter how short it is).
Sometimes it download only part of the clip.

I've been using it for years and it is one of the best video down-loaders here. I use it on linux and it is wonderful. Highly recommended!

It doesn't work! Why doesn't it state from the beggining that it needs a 3rd party converter? About as useful as Paris Hilton wallpaper.

It takes video from any site! I have tested some similar extansions, and I can tell: Video DownloadHelper - best of other! All very functionally and easily! Many thanks to developers for support of this unique extansion!

This is an amazing add on; I use it frequently to download YouTube videos, and videos needed for research from just about anywhere else. If videos cannot be downloaded in a format compatible with my system, voila, the software quickly converts them into a format of my choice, which is. This add-on is fabulous, safe, and extremely useful software. Thank you DownloadHelper!!!!

Great flexible plugin, once you figure out how to get the missing ffmpeg conversion component. I have no idea why this is not included in the bundle other than they didn't want to include a 10mb file. However, by not including it, the conversion feature is impossible to use for average people as the ffmpeg group does not have precompiled downloads. For Mac, you can download ffmpegx and pull it out of the application bundle contents since the features to configure the plugin don't work on Mac. Hopefully this helps some power users out there, the rest of you will have to find something that works correctly out of the box. Allegedly by their screenshots on Windows you can automatically download and install the converter, but again why is it not just included?

Still not working with latest 4.0 beta build. Looking forward for an update.

Recently I was given the task to make training DVD for a new menu rollout. The videos were on our corporate website in .FLV format and couldnt be downloaded via the conventional right-click save as method so I went in search of a add-on to help me. I chose this one because of the added conversion tool and am immensly impressed. Not only was I able to download the video footage but this program converted the files from .FLV to .AVI format in the background making the DVD creation process much simpler when using Windows DVD maker. I would recomend this add-on to anyone who wishes to download embedded video from the web to store on DVD.
