RE: Default Alt+enter.
I use ALT+Enter quite frequently to open in new tab what I've typed in current tab.
A solution could be to not input nothing in the ALT+Enter field, a second solution I think it will be that the URL SUFFIX to search if the address field contains any of the inputs we had given (.com, .org, .gov), if it detects, do nothing, and if it doesn't detect, put's the suffix.
Meaning, when i want to use the open in new tab (ALT+ENTER shortcut) i type the full address (e.g. whitehouse.gov), and when i want to use the URL SUFFIX i type whitehouse and press ALT+ENTER. Thanks for this great addon.

Doesn't do anything. I was expecting it to be a drop down in the address bar for .com, .net, .co.uk etc, but it doesn't do that. Aparently uses shortcuts, but I tried a few and nothing happened. I have tab mix plus, maybe that's also my problem with this.

Works fine...

It does that same thing its been doing since it was made, I use tab mix plus myself and it works fine together with it. The extension only allows you to customize what will be used for url completion when typing and pressing a key combination.

To be precise: you type in "google" and press ctrl-enter. Then "www." is added in front of what you typed, and ".com" is added behind what you typed. In the extension's options you can change what will be added in front of and behind what you typed. You can do this for multiple key combinations. That's all that this extension is supposed to do.

Not working for me Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It just doesn't seem to be working with v0.5.1 and FF 3.6.2. Is there still an incompatibility with Tab Mix Plus; I am using v0.3.8.2 of Tab Mix Plus.

Really great extension, but seems like the autor have quit its development. The developer website points to a free domain advertisement. I hope someone will pick where he droped so we can have this working again on the new Firefox versions.

Essential add-on letting you change default FF settings that should be available through options panel by default. It's a big shame FF developers do not include a mechanism to change such basic setting.

Like Iccarus I too have made a new version of this extension. Unlike him though I have totally rewritten it, keeping functionality the same. Please have a look at: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/9201/

Continuation Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Awesome addon, but due to incompatibility issues with the later versions I have Continued Gomyoung Kim 's great work at: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/9094

Where it works for 3.0.* and also the options panel has been changed to allow clicking again in the text boxes.

My only goal there is to provide compatibility updates only, without changing any functionality.

P.S. Gomyoung Kim, if you disagree with this in any way, please just say so and I will remove my continuation mod from the site...

Actually, you only need to open the .xpi file, edit the install.rdf file within and put :
3.0.*
in place of :
3.0

Then you will be able to install the addon again and it works...

For lost capo Rated 1 out of 5 stars

UPDATE: Doesn't work in 3.0.1 :-( Someone has a solution?

Took me a few minutes but now I get it!:-) You have to install 0.3.7 version provided by sperenz55 and then go to about:config, into filter put url and at the bottom of the page are all the suffixes you can change - without the extension installed they're not there. Originally I thought sperenz55 wrote two alternative ways but it's all one manual ;-)

Works in 3.0RC1 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I found version 0.3.6 here and got it to work by editing the install.rdf file and changing the maxversion line. It works perfectly and is exactly what I needed!
