With support of Thunderbird mail editor windows the URL Link could get wider acceptance in the community. Therefore only 4 stars.

I'm using this extension namely also as replacement for "Search With". In such a case this feature is needed.

Nevertheless, a great extension.

no sub menus option? Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I really want to like URL Link but I would like to have a no sub menus option and just have the "Open Selection in new tab" on the main right click context menu!

Can this be added?

Awesome addon. Previously was using DictionarySearch addon which has limitations of options but with this addon, that problem is history!

I like how you can add as many site as you want, VERY USEFUL. Definitely a must have addon for firefox users.

I cant live without this add-on - Brilliant! Needs to be built into Firefox Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This add-on is fabulous. Once you start using it, you'll never go back. Zero tradeoffs, all benefits.

Have you ever tried selecting a URL in text (perhaps blog comments) and wasted a few seconds trying to get "just" the URL selected? With this add-on you will be in heaven.

Firefox needs to build this into the source code. Hell, every browser needs this. It's that important.

Simple and great Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Really good add-on, making simple what should be simple: select an URL and open it!
Being able to choose between opening in the same or a in new tab is also very handy.
A must have!

El q más me ha gustado de los complementos para abrir links no enlazados, ya q viene en español y es muy personalizable. Muy bueno.

I use it for smb:// link to open with nautilus (gnome).

One improvement would be to automatically add links on recognized patterns (create link on smb://something, for example)

This addon is great because if you know a product has a webpage, but do not want to have to type it in, or it's web address is not complete, you can right click and add web page components to the word and get to the web page faster.

I have tried other add-ons as well. But I have found this one more flexible and handy. Thank you very much for developing it.

I very like this tool.

And I have a question:
How can I open a file link ? like this:
E:\amusement\books\notes\1.doc

Thanks a lot.

file links (mostly) work

URL Link will correctly convert E:\blah links into file:///E:/blah and attempt to launch them. However, there is a security check in TB/FF that manifests no errors or prompts (there's an open bug on it) that prevents a lot of file: links from working, esp. from TB emails. You'll have to google it, it's far too complicated to go into here, but there are workarounds you can set up for most cases.

This little add-on it a great helper. I use it daily, and I don't know how many time is has already saved (which I would otherwise have wasted on copying and pasting URLs). Also great for looking up translations in different dictionaries.

Very useful! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thanks very much for this add-on. I basically use it for opening links and starting customized search queries from the context menu. Please, can you add a back up function so it would be easy to save preferences just in case.
Since I don't know where to report bugs, if you want to move any item up/down the entry disappears and all you've got is "undefined"
The same happens if you add a separator. I'm using Firefox 3.
Thanks for the efforts.
