will this be for 57
Always works perfectly....all ads are gone on any commercial site such as You tube Kajiji and any other site.
I love this program!!!!....thanks.*john
It would be great, but it blocks Google Shopping links. It took me a while to figure out that is was this add-on doing it.
As someone who spends hours and hours on youtube, I MUST have this. I mistakenly 'refreshed' FF and it blew my applications off, along with my personas; I needed of a more warning about exactly what the refresh would do, but it was my fault for not checking first. I refreshed because my bookmark toolbar folders kept moving around, grrr. I then added youtube black when I was redoing my settings, it seems much easier to see the page without so much glaring whitespace, and I will use it for a while, we'll see if I like it long term. At first I thought it might have bumped off my adblocker, but it was probably the refresh. The youtube black is obviously less light and that may be good for my brain, especially at night. But the adblocker is absolutely necessary, and even though it gave me a null popup after I loaded it, it works just fine. Thank you so much! This is why I love Firefox and have been a loyal user since 2005!
I now have better relations with my neighbor. I was irritated at having to keep the volume down so low I couldn't hear it, but she heard all the commercials because of their extreme volume increase. Now I get to hear the show I'm watching. And she doesn't have to hear anything from my apartment. I don't know how I got it to install, but once it did it just works, I don't have to click a button or anything to turn it on. It's just there. On TV channels sometimes there is just like a 1 or 2 second pause where the ad would have been. Can you believe it, sometimes I kind off miss the ads, but not enough to have them back again. A great tool. Allows me to enjoy a video without having to jump up every few minutes to turn the volume down because of an ad. At 14 and more ads per video being the average on YouTube, it is much calmer and relaxing to watch online content. Thank you.
used to be my most favorit FF addon, now it don't work anymore!
When is an adblocker not an adblocker? When the company accepts money from the largest advertisers on the web (Microsoft, Google, Amazon) and then doesn't block their ads.
Got rid of ads on Daily Mail website which my previous blocker didn't.
I had to read the entire comment section before posting so here it goes. I'm aware that the developer doesn't use FF anymore which kinda strange since because I'm one of the many millions who use FF and he stopped right after he developed it which is extremely sad. I never use Chrome because of too many problems.
I wish the developer to continue to work on this add-on. The funny thing is that my FF on my Mac still blocks ads on major sites except for Hulu and other ad-driven sites (it used to). Maybe we users can pitch in somehow to help the developer update this priceless add-on. The update should renamed to Updated Ad Blocker for Firefox 25+. Please update this add-on @mysticdrew please :'(
Before the old one got "outdated" it worked like a dream! No ads on webpages, no pop-ups, no video ads. I LOVED IT! Now, they do this new "updated" version. It does NOT block ANY ads AT ALL! Ads on webpages, pop-ups, video ads, all of it still happens as if I didn't install this. I have both this ad blocker and the ad blocker plus that "stops" pop-ups. PLEASE fix this so I can give a better review!
excellent one thanks a lot :)
It can be better if adding "jalan.net" or else site to Exceptions by default.
When I try to log-in jalan.net, this add-on will block the log-in scripts, so I can't log-in until adding to Exceptions.
It did not working at all. Help me please
Used it for years, worked well all that time.
Only problem I've noticed is that the whitelist doesn't work. Even with a site whitelisted the ads still are gone.
Adblock just keeps getting better and better!
Very useful addon thank you
trying to add and exception for hulu and i add it then it's gone. oh well works well otherwise.
Working well so far. It blocks video ads effectly.
These are my findings:
Hulu-Blocks ads but the time you have to wait is equal to each ad that was blocked but still much much better and would rather wait than to see the ad for that time period.
Pandora- Blocks the visual ad but not audio, is good to prevent accidentally clicking on ad like I have done many times.
Over all love the this ad blocker and keep up the good work!
Updated Ad Blocker for Firefox 11+ 0.7.7 ...
Hm ... mixed results so far: playing havoc with Google search results pages and messed up the 'tabs' function in Firefox v 24.0
Add-on works great for my purposes, doesn't slow anything down and I don't have to watch annoying ads anymore on youtube or other independent video hosting sites (*cough* you know what I mean). Blocks ads completely on most major networks; on a few you have to wait through a "turn off your ad-blocker" message instead of a commercial.
The only issue is with Hulu; as of the time of writing Hulu tells me to turn of my ad-blocker and won't let me play a video until I do. (I think Hulu may be getting quicker with getting around these ad-ons, this is a new development as I used to just have to wait for the message to count down on Hulu.)
Haven't noticed a difference in ads like "featured links" on search engines, facebook, email etc., but banner ads have disappeared from youtube as well.
Definitely recommended unless you are a Hulu subscriber.
It's okay, but needs MUCH more attention and updating. Still far too many ads getting through.
STUFFED with ads.
Ace! no more annoying adds on youtube! A real gem, thanks for the making this little badboy!
