wish i could disable without having to go to add ons because sometimes i don't want auto refresh like when i'm trying to catch up on tweets.
I just had to learn how to make Firefox add-ons and improve it a little bit. See my updated version here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/better-twitter-auto-refresh/
Thanks for making the addon better. Wanna merge our work and collaborate on further releases?
It should really only auto-update when the user is scrolled to the top of the timeline already, in order to avoid getting jerked out of place when you are reading lower down on the timeline.
Works well, but crying out for an on/off button. x
Very good add-on doing what Twitter itself should do. But it needs a button to easily turn it on and off while reading or replying to tweets. Maybe in a new version?
It's a good addon. New tweets are displayed automatically. Only issue was already posted in the ratings: When you read a tweet that is not at the top of the page and a new tweet arrives, it jumps to the top of the page.
It would be cool if the tweets were added at the top of the page without jumping to the top.
A workaround could be not to load tweets while the page isn't at the top.
Twitter has been around now for how many years? 8? And it STILL does not auto-update?! WTF! Anyhoo Good on ya for creating a decent plugin.
Що правда мене багато твітів і це починає дратувати. А тому перейшов на клієнт
Glad to hear. Дякую :)
This does just about exactly what it says: keeps adding new tweets as they are received, rather than have a number appear on top and having to manually refresh them.
One issue I am seeing - when the tweets are refreshed the page jumps back to an earlier location instead of leaving you where you are. E.g., if you are reading a tweet halfway down the page and suddenly you find yourself looking at tweets several pages up from where you were reading. Roughly once a minute. Can that be fixed?
Thanks Jim for pointing this out. I don't have an idea how to fix this. Will try to find a solution.
Works great. However it needs a button in the add on bar or someplace to pause it or disable it aside from going into the add-on manager. Kudos for not having to restart the browser when you enable/disable this extension. It's a great extension but it needs an icon in the add on bar to enable/disable. Otherwise I have no complaints. And Thank you.
WIll add this feature in the next rewrite.
