Significantly faster! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Just wanted to give a quick thanks to the developer of this addon. It has made a big improvement to Firefox (which was almost intolerable before).

To everyone else, this is the addon to get!

Wow! Immediate improvement. Slow loading of webpages leading to time-outs has been driving me nuts! I set this to "Power Settings" and whoosh!!!!!

Briliant!

What I'm wondering is if this add-on is OK for FF 12 and higher. I got the speed problem fixed by starting in the safe mode and going back to all factory defaults.

Simple Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Hard to say if it makes much of a difference in the real world.

I should add that FF8 reduced the max connections to 48 (from 256 in FF7) due to a bug that was net yet repaired. Also, as of FF3, max-connections-per-server defaults to 15. The Mozillazine Wiki says that persistent connections above 10 are considered excessive.

It's good addon if you don't want to mess with advanced config in about:config and only want to change network settings. Edwin please fix the POWER mode couse it set connections to 24 instead of more than 256

This extension still works in FF 7.0.1 as it was originally coded BUT the problem is that if you use the POWER mode the extension sets the preference network.http.max-connections to 40 because in earlier releases of FF the default was 16, then 24.

In FF 7.0.1 the default for the preference network.http.max-connections is now 256.

Therefore using this extension in POWER mode slows down FF.

This bug has been fixed in the latest release.

Please update description to tell people, that this addon may work for their situation or it may not because If you have a fast connection with tweak network you go really fast, but if you have a slow connection with tweak network the difference is not noticeable.

This addon seems to have no effect on my speeds no matter what i choose. I have tried the online speedtest numerous times to no effect on anything. downloading a file also had no increases or decreases no matter what i tried the settings at. default, power, 100 all, 1 all, and 0 all for the settings values. i will try numerous downloads and see what happens then. i will update this review after that.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.1-signed.1-signed).

As you have seen, the settings do not have an impact on the download speed of a single file. It only has an impact on downloading multiple files, like in a webpage or when downloading lots of files simultaneously.
