This is very amazing and useful extension for Firefox. It is very helpful while watching videos in a dark corner, or for hiding inappropriate ads or videos in corners. Really great work overall!

The Atmosphere Lighthing Effect feature doesn't always work/load (usually when you click on videos that are on your Watch Later playlist) and having to reload all the tabs of all the videos you want to watch and manually pause them after JUST because you want the effect to work....... can get very annoying, very fast. :(

Sorry you have had this bad experience. It looks like there is another Firefox extension that blocks or slow down the Atmosphere Lighting feature. Try to disable the other Firefox extensions you are using one by one except Turn Off the Lights. That should solve this problem.

I fix my words to more clearly.

When I enable this add-on "Turn Off the Lights for YouTube™", then I watch YouTube, I cannot drag subtitle to my preference position.
but when I disable, the subtitle can drag to my preference position.

may be conflict with "Enhancer for YouTube™by Maxime RF" add-on

Have used this extension extensively for years — DVDs, Netflix, Hulu, Hoopla, Amazon Prime, Youtube... I don't recall any failures. Thank you!

What didn't work well? Do you use any other Firefox extensions in the background?

Installed it. They opened their home page three times. All 3 tabs spammed the heck out of Ublock Origin and Disconnect.

Nice extension, does its job well.

BUT the data collection makes me very cautions:

"If you visit our site to read or download information on our pages, we collect and store only the following information about you:

+ The name of the domain from which you access the Internet
+ The date and time you access our site
+ The Internet address of the website you used to link directly to our site.
+ Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to your website.
+ Google's use of the DART cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and/or other sites on the Internet."

Hi there,

We take the privacy of our users very seriously. And the Turn Off the Lights Firefox extension does not collect anything from you. Because there is no Google Analytic script inside the extension file.

What you said is for the www.turnoffthelights.com website (as it stated on the privacy page -> topic "website").
This analytic data is anonymously collected with the Google Analytics script, to improve the website and the web page performance (find a web page that is loading slow). Furthermore, we know when there is a big group of visitors is reading our website (for an example in the morning). And what web browser do our visitors use to see our website. It is the same here for Mozilla Firefox addons gallery, they use also the Google Analytics script.
