  • I've forked a new version mainly target at Pale Moon with support for older versions of Firefox, Thunderbird and SeaMonkey, available at realityripple.com/Software/Mozilla-Extensions/Track-Package/ because this extension has always been so useful.

  • Worked The First Time, But Not The Second...

    I initially installed this a few days ago and it worked like a charm. I played with it and tested its capabilities for about an hour. I then restarted Firefox and it all fell apart. The first thing I noticed was that the FF Tools: Track Package sub-Menu had disappeared. Then also, the Track Package on the right-click menu had also gone missing. I have tried to reinstall Track Package several times, but to no avail. I am sorry to see it go as it was incredibly useful for the full hour that it actually worked. Addendum: Neither the Track Package website nor the Developer's website are available. I shot an email off to the Developer explaining the situation, but he has, as yet, either not read it or simply chooses not to respond.

  • Works greatif you only need preprogrammed carriers

    I've been using this extension for several years and it has worked flawlessly with the carriers preconfigured. Today I tried to add Royal Netherlands Post due to their miserable service and discovered the "Track Package Extension" web site with the explanation of how to add carriers no longer exists. The links for reporting problems and contacting the author are also broken. All extensions have their time and this one's time has obviously passed...

  • Essential addon.

    Worked fine up to FF 47.0.1. Not working in FF 48.0 or higher; e10s enabled or disabled.

  • USPS International seems to work with:

    Regex = ^\LN{11|
    URL = http://trkcnfrm1.smi.usps.com/PTSInternetWeb/InterLabelInquiry.do?origTrackNum=

  • Awesome addon. I use it on a regular basis both at work and at home.

    Don't know why they haven't added Lasership after this long, but if you want it, you can add it in the options.

    Regex: ^LS

    URL: http://www.lasership.com/track.php?track_number_input=

  • Very handy, particularly for one that uses a lot of online shopping such as with Amazon Prime or other free shipping programs.

    Since Amazon is so popular, it would be great to have LaserShip added.

  • very useful

    Very useful. Timely find, I was looking for something to save the minor tedium of going from the email to the tracking website, and was delighted to find this.

    Easy to use, easy to extend.

  • For German "Hermes"-Versand

    RegEx: ^\d{14}$

    URL: http://tracking.hlg.de/Tracking.jsp?TrackID=

    Only tested with numbers, dont know if they take characters too ... (first shipping with them by Amazon, hope they're as quick as DHL!)

  • "By default, the definitions are specified by a file hosted on this site. Click the "Update Regex/URL Preferences" button to update to the latest definitions." OK great but does not populate the data when add-on is installed for the first time... Does not support right-click in Gmail. Not a very user friendly add-on.

    Developer response

    Contact me

    I would love to help solve some of these issues, but have no contact info. In particular, I cannot reproduce your Gmail problem. Adding a way to autoupdate definitions is something I'm considering.

  • Right-click on UPS tracking number in Gmail notice from Amazon does not work. No "Track Package" option appears... FF reports add-on is installed.

  • Messes up buttons when editing Toolbars in FF 3.6

    I love this extension, but there's a problem in Firefox 3.6.

    Trackpackage 2.5 - and problem still exists in 2.6 - adds a huge mess of buttons in the toolbar config editor in Firefox 3.6.

    Seems to be ok in Thunderbird, where I use it the most.

    I've emailed the dev twice about it now, but still no resolution.

    Will change to 5 stars once this is resolved.

  • Go to the extension web site and download the XPI file version 2.5. Then manually install it in Thunderbird.

  • This add-on was so nifty and useful, it made me sign up just to post the review :-)
    Simple, does what it's supposed to be, that's what it takes to get 5 stars.

    My only missing feature: add support to use the app via the search engine bar, for tracking numbers that aren't in a web page.

  • It's great, I use it often. Is there a way to set it so the tracked package opens a new tab rather than a new window>
    Thank You
