Wow 1.0.0! I can't imagine going back to the days when my computer used almost 1Gb of ram to handle my 50+ tabs in firefox!! Thanks for slimming my firefox and keep up the good work!

Great add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I own a MacBook Pro and I was used to judging how many tabs I had open by the temperature of my knees. Too many and the computer became too hot to touch. But now with this application I can have as much reading material open as I want and still keep my lap at a pain-free temperature, not to mention saving hours of battery life. This is utterly invaluable.

However there are a few aspects of a plugin's state which are not stored, and it would be even better if they could be. These include text entered in forms (I can't use TMT to save a draft of this review, for instance, because when I restore it the text will be gone), as well as the state of scripts and plugins (e.g. if you pause a YouTube video and archive the tab it will lose all the video data and start buffering again from the beginning). If either of these could be implemented it would add a killer feature to an already awesome add-on.

I'd love it if you could incorporate either an "idle" button or auto-detect when the browser is minimised and move CPU intensive tabs into TMT cache to free up CPU for gamers that need it for smooth gameplay in those apps. Perhaps for detecting such tabs you could use the code from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/9954 with the method described in a review of it:
"Once XUL Profiler presents the callgraph page, I click to "See" the "Source" of the bar with the greatest "Time" usage. A new window pops up with the source, and the offending URL is right at the top in the title bar. I find that URL website amongst the tabs I have open and close down the tab. When my Task Manager shows that my CPU usage has dropped, then I know I have freed up my system and killed the culprit."

Pretty useful add-on. The problem I have with it is that I don't know how to color the tabs. Other than that this extention works fabulous!

Change tab color

Hi, you can change tab color of TMT tabs by right clicking on a TMT tab to open its context menu, then click 'Change Tab Color'.

Almost perfect Rated 4 out of 5 stars

If you could add the ability to show two or more bars at once, an option to set the maximum width for tabs and a way to have tabs go onto multiple rows rather than scrolling left/right (like in Tab Mix Plus), TooManyTabs would be absolutely perfect :D

Throbber/Favicon problem Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Excellent addon that I cannot live without. I noticed how you answered everyone's questions/issues and I thought that was very nice of you. I hope you can answer this. When I open FF and say I have around 20 tabs loading. Usually as they load, each individual tab's throbber spins until the tab is loaded, and the throbber turns into the favicon. Unfortunately, when TMT is enabled, when i hover over any tab that's still loading, the throbber stops spinning and the favicon shows, as if the page has finished loading, but when I go to the tab, its still loading. So basically if all my tabs are loading (throbbers spinning) and if I hover my mouse over all of them, they will stop moving and load the favicons, though they're still loading. When i disable TMT, everything is back to normal. Is this a conflict with another addon? I hope that made sense. Thanks for any help!

EDIT: Just updated my rating as the issue was fixed with the 0.4.4 update. EXCELLENT!! Thanks and keep up the good work :)

Re: tab kit

Thank for your interest in TooManyTabs(TMT). TMT is compatible with Tab Kit, we will also improve the support of Tab Kit in the next version, e.g. sending a tab group to TMT.

This is an excellent way to "bookmark" web pages, and I really like it.

The only problem is that it only has 6 rows. Will it be possible to set the number of rows in future editions of TooManyTabs?

Re: Add more rows

Hi, TooManyTabs is not just a set of bookmarks, it restores the tab history and tab state as well. To add more row, please go to the options of TMT and click "New Row". For more details, please visit our "how to use section" here, thanks. http://www.visibotech.com/toomanytabs/howtouse.htm

nice useful add-on, thanks.
it would be nice if you add some option: panel shows when I adding a tab. it will be useful when autohide option is enabled I think...
P.S. sorry for my english if it's not good

Awesome add-on! I like how it manages to save my PC's memory and CPU time while being so much more than a simple bookmark system - it actually saves the session of the tab, and loads quickly from disk cache when I restore it! Feature request: synchronize between computers!

A good addon but i thought it would create tabs that are accessible not just temporary bookmarks which is what this add on is. I hope that it can be changed so that the tabs are accessible not just a bookmark. Otherwise its function atm is ok for peeple who want temporary bookmarks

re:

Hi, TooManyTabs is not just a set of temporary bookmarks. When you restore a tab, the tab history and tab state are also restored. It aims to help users who have performance issues when having too many tabs open. For more details about TooManyTabs, please visit our blog.

Somewhat incompatible with other addons Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Does not play nicely with other addons, specifically tab management addons I've installed for colorizing and iconizing tabs.

UI is slightly clunky, and I don't appreciate the bookmark-based design, although I can see why it was done.
Furthermore, it appears to randomize tab order in saved sessions, which alone is enough to kill it for me.

Re: Somewhat incompatible with other addons

Thanks for your report. TooManyTabs would not temper with your browsing session, so the problem may be due to conflicts between TooManyTabs and other addons. Can you send us the list of installed addons and steps to reproduce the bug to reportbug@visibotech.com ?

Regarding Reloading... Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I agree with Percy Cabello. I like the idea of this addon (greatly appreciated.)

"Sounds interesting except for the fact that tabs in the additional tab bars are reloaded when I expected them to just make visible."

Instead of being able to just click on tabs after clicking on the 'yellow arrow' to move to toomanytabs rows and just going back to the page as it was with no waiting; now each time I click on the tab, I have to wait till each page loads up again. Doing this each time can take up a lot of time. Just as much time as using a bookmark.

I'd enjoy this addon more if it didn't load the tabs each time and offered a better alternative to bookmarking.

"The loading of page is intended. We remove the tabs from browser hoping to release memory when there are too many tabs. We have updated the description to see if that gives the users the proper expectation.
"

Yes please change the description because right now it still says:

"Click the stored tab will restore the tab to the browser. Notice that the page will not reload and will scroll to your last page position."

I installed this addon with the assumption that it was going to do what it said it will do.

Just a sudgestion: it will be nice if you could cange the order of rows, I don't think it's so hard to code
