One of my favorite extension because very useful but one thing for me is missing to be the best :
The alphabetic sorting of row, i know we can do it directly in bookmarks manager but automatically it's much faster and easier.
Whenever I use Firefox after installing TMT, I get repeated "script busy" errors where I have to kill the script to get moving again. Now I just want to figure out how to uninstall it.
I was trying this out, i lost all my saved tabs. Also the row names where changed to default.
Never going to use it again on firefox. Chrome version is ok
This is very useful if you have a lot of tabs open. It automatically saves the tabs in a bar right under your permanent bookmarks. As you open the saved tabs, it will delete them where they are saved, which is the unsorted section of your bookmarks. (That's the default behavior; you can change this if you want.) Very useful and easy to use.
Looks like TMT 1.4.5 doesn't work correctly with FF 35.0 beta. Several problems visible, one of them an enormous memory consumption independent of the number of opened Tabs. I would say, TMT should be checked for incompatible parts with latest FF's. I will try to avoid using it for the next time.
- can u create a button which sends all tabs to domain row in one click like as onetab
- can u give the option to hide close tab icon on non-pinned tabs , i fear that i might click the close button by accident and didn't even know what i lost.
- can the added tabs apper on top of list.
TooManyTabs "saves memory". NOPE. It's a lie.
Go ahead, check it out. Open a few hundred tabs, send them to "TooManyTabs". Select "Close Other Tabs". Close down FIREFOX. Now reopen FIREFOX. Check your memory usage with PROCESS EXPLORER, guess what... ALL OF THOSE TABS STORED IN TOOMANYTABS ARE STILL EATING MEMORY. I can show you this also by simply refusing to load my last Firefox session with a few hundred TooManyTabs listed.
A nice add-on. A small feature request might be, "send left tabs to the row" "send right tabs to the row" etc.
Does this work with the latest firefox?
TMT is not fully working with Firefox 30. When clicking on the TMT symbol, or whatever it's called, on the left-hand-side of a tab, nothing happens. Neither single nor double-clicking works anymore, to send a Web page to the TMT bookmarks folder.
This stopped working with Firefox 30 for me. No extensions were added and no add-on configuration changes were made after installation of Firefox 30. So the problem shouldn't be a conflict with other add-ons, for TMT worked, thoroughly, until Firefox 30.
I just created an account in the support forums and posted a more extensive comment about this sudden problem with TMT.
I'll select a 4-star rating, but once this problem is resolved, then consider it a 5-star rating. It's a very handy extension that always previously worked for me. This is the very first time that I've had a problem with TMT.
Me encanta, lo mejor en firefox :D
I love this extension and couldn't disagree more with the previous review... the layout, etc. is great and much prefer over the Chrome version (albeit, that one is cool, too... but, I prefer this one, it's more akin to Firefox styling that Foxers are accustomed to). My only gripe is that it does seem to have issues with Pale Moon (sometimes opening all links automatically or at start). Don't think the extension is the culprit, but perhaps they can fix it, since Pale Moon can't.
Very useful for people with hundreds of tabs. It stores the inactive tabs as bookmarks, keeping them visible as a "secondary tab row", restoring them back to the tabs row when clicked on.
It would be five-stars if it could allow multiple rows view of the same group (mimicking the real tabs row). Currently, it can only show a single row for each group, scrollable (although it can show multiple groups at once in several rows).
Also, it became a lot less easy to use since Firefox 29, because the "click to send to TMT" stopped working, so I have to open the context menu and select "send to TMT -> group". I hope this bug is soon fixed (TMT 1.4.5).
Hi, please use double click to send your tabs since FF 29. Details are in this post http://blog.visibotech.com/2014/03/toomanytabs-now-compatible-with-aurora.html
Totally useless. There are no settings, no option to unload tab.
Had to switch from Chrome to FF as my primary browser recently due to performance and censorship issues... While I absolutely love the Chrome version of this extension I can't say the same for the FF one. Is there any way to port the Chrome version over to FF? I'd give it 5 stars if not for that, it might as well be a completely different title given the entirely different layout and usage. Sorry to see that FF has no extension with the style of your Chrome version...
It rocks. Allows a simple and intuitive method of adding a special "bookmark" row (yes, TooManyTabs actually stores its info in Bookmark folders). Super easy to use with right-click functionality. Easy to toggle on/off as needed. Recommended. I use this along with easy restart to cut way down on FF memory usage.
One caveat: As with any such app, you are actually adding Bookmarks. TMT makes it easy to do so... so easy that you may wind up with thousands, which can slow your browser a bit. This is NOT the apps fault! Just be sure to occasionally go thru your bookmarks and clean them up, removing any you no longer need.
Important: for safety, I disable this exension, then restart FF. Then I can safely move or rename the TMT tab folders and contents in FF's bookmark manager. Then just re-enable TMT and restart browser. Voila! If you never need to rearrange/clean, then you don't even need to do this.
i was using TMT for maybe a year or two. Upon switch to the version 1.4.3 I've lost every tab in every group.
It's not a FF issue, as before the last upgrade, I've crashed FF (intentionally) and all the groups, as well as tab constellations were restored.
Right now i can see the remaining group names in the FF, but they are not shown in the TMT options.
Hi, your stored tabs should be in "Unsorted Bookmarks" > TooManyTabs (Do Not Delete). Unless you remove those bookmarks intentionally, it should be untouch. If TMT is not showing your tabs properly, please send us a bug report. Instruction is in this post http://goo.gl/K9Ti4E
I am PISSED! This app "hid" (without me doing anything to trigger it to) all of my tabs except a select few in a group I'd tried to create, with no way to get back to them. If they weren't in a group, well, too bad, they're simply erased. There's no WAY I can remember what they all were! I thought I could close FF and restart, but when I did, all 227 tabs I had open were gone! I tried to figure out a way to restore them, but nope, there simply gone. This app SUCKS!!!! If it were possible, I'd have given it zero stars.
Hi, TMT does not and cannot hide any of your active tabs, if you restart FF and loss your tabs, it is because FF has failed to restore your last session.
UPDATE July 12, 2013 Yesterday I contacted the developers through their e-mail address about this issue. They posted a beta fix July 11 later that same day (same day fix!), which fixed the missing icon issue. Kudos to Visibo for the quick, same-day response and fix! :)
ORIGINAL POST July 11, 2013 (Earlier that day) TooManyTabs is a great product! Since installing it a month ago, I use it all the time. Thank you so much! I am also reporting an issue with TooManyTabs 1.4.1 since installing FireFox 22.0 two days ago on my Windows XP computer: TooManyTabs saved tab/URL icons are not showing in the TooManyTab saved-rows, which I miss dearly as I now realize I recognize the saved links much more quickly with the visual aid (icons) then with the text. Thanks again!
Drop down list to select active row doesn't show all rows available. Row list in drop down menu also changes inexplicably. v 1.4.1
I have few proosals.
1. The bookmark folder has option: "Open All in tabs". Sometimes it is usefull, but if the folder contains many bookmarks, I'd like to open them directly in TMT.
Is it possible to open them in TMT when TMT bar is open (or add extra item in bookmark menu - open in TMT).
2. Sometimes it is desired to send to TMT all tabs right (or left) from current. Is it possible to add such options (I mean items in tab context menu)?
Never heard of this add-on before, but it really might be what I'm looking for. It works perfectly fine so far. However, I'm seriously missing a way to jump to the first or the last tab in a row. Or maybe some sort of "Go to" right-click feature in the "List all tabs" menu, where it could instant scroll the row to any tab in the row. If something like that is at all possible.
Edit: realized right now that I can drag tabs from the normal firefox row to TMT rows, rather than having to right-click add them at the end of the row. That surely helps with the sorting :)
Thanks for what seems to be a nice addon!
I set min tabsize to 15, favicon width, title isn't readable anyway at 50 :)
Open unloaded and close similar tabs would be handy.
Great idea, great plugin. But we can and should improve further.
Among the many good ideas from other users and I would like to add my own for the future.
It would be helpful if you could synchronize separately every single bar with other computers, so you can navigate simultaneously with other people in other parts of the world.
Thanks for the plugin, I hope you want to improve.
