This was a simple yet useful addon.
Unfortunately it no longer works after upgrading to Firefox Quantum. Can anybody suggest an alternative?
I was very upset when word-wrapping in Firefox was abandoned. But now I've found this add-on, it works! Thanks!)
Thank you for making this, it's very useful. I hate the word wrap feature.
It could be improved in at least 2 ways: you should be able to see whether you have word wrap turned on or not. And, as others have pointed out, an option to make nowrap the default would be nice.
Had a document with a "PRE" html tag and veeeeery loooong lines. Looked for something to help. Found this, installed, used "View -- Word wrap within PRE" menu, lines are now wrapped and I can read the document... What more can I say? Thanks a lot!!!
tyvm, makes a nice tidy vertical rectangle that you can zoom in and out of like a web page, with the text neatly wrapped in proper paragraph formatting.
Thank you very much. The application solved my big problem.
Convenient extension which I've had installed and used for years (both in the browser, and in mail) but seems to break in latest versions:
Error: ReferenceError: nsIPlaintextEditorMail is not defined
Source File: chrome://togglewordwrap/content/toggleWordWrap.js
I'm unable to "Save as Draft" or "Send" when using plain text (vs. HTML) composition, probably because of the given error observed – the "Options → Enable Word Wrap" menu item (composition window) appears disabled, also.
While editing outgoing email, I frequently insert newlines. This can happen in a number of scenarios, such as pasting text that contains newlines.
I was hoping this addon would let me select some of the text, or all of the text by default, and actually remove the newlines and flow the text to the desired width (72 characters).
It doesn't do that. Apparently, it will only affect lines longer than the desired width. TB seems to have no way to format text within the desired width.
My only wish is that there was some indicator at the end of a line that was wrapped.
This add-on used to work beautifully on my Mac. But it has not been working for a few months. One of the recent Thunderbird updates must have broken it. My Current TB is 24.3.0. As this problem with long lines of not wrapping properly in TB is a major issue, it would be good to get this add-on working again. I feel loyal to TB, so I really wish the developer would update this add-on (or rather TB itself would be fixed so that an add-on would not be needed for such a basic concept as to wrap lines properly!)
Does not work any more with latest Thunderbird update 24.1.1 (win7)
Unfortunately this stopped working in version 24.x (Windows 7). Do we need an update to get it back in action?
Do not works on TB v24.0 Linux 64-bit.
Works perfectly for me, I was using it to read Japanese text files in Firefox so I could use other add-ons along with them (like Rikaichan for a popup dictionary). I had no problems at all.
I can only give it 2 stars under the circumstances. Mozilla's dev cycles are way too short and this is another one which has fallen by the wayside. None of these menus appear for me.
Not perfect, but a *very* useful add-on for reading emails that should wrap but don't. Many thanks!
Very useful addon, which can be used via keyboard shortcuts, too (ctrl-shift-w).
I agree with the last 2 reviewers. It works as it should **except** that every time I refresh the page I have to re-wrap the text. That's such a blasted nuisance that I'm only giving this extension 2 stars out of 5, otherwise I would give it at least 4. Please fix.
Cool tool! But, like some other reviewers, I'd prefer the picked setting either to stick and not revert to word wrap with every new composition window ...or have the no wrap as default. Or maybe there could be an option that allows to pick which setting (wrap or no wrap) should be the default setting.
If would have given it 5* but currently I have to disable word-wrap for each new message I wrote. That insane, so the plugin is almost useless due to this bug. I hope that soon I'll return to redo the review.
Full marks for an issue resolver.. you just made my life easier
Vital for showing so many web pages. It's become my go-to fix for any bad rendering, and tends to work well!
I agree that it could do with an option to be on by default, but it's great anyway.
Terrific tool ! Works great in FF 7.0.1. You will find this option when you right click on a page. This should be incorporated into FF, and it should stick between pages. Thanks for a great add on !
It's very hard to read paragraphs when you have to scroll left-right on EVERY SINGLE LINE so this is a great tool.
The description and screenshots are very confusing. They led me to believe that this extension was only available on Thunderbird. I even installed it, restarted my browser, and see that it didn't work, and then uninstalled it.
You should move screenshot that shows how to activate the extension (View > Word Wrap within ) to the first position of screenshots because all the other screenshots led me to believe this extension was only available in Thunderbird.
Thanks for the great work.
