I don't see the option to export the 3d rendered data! Not sure if its an existing bug. Other than that its a kewl utility.
Take a look at: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tilt/reviews/383660/
"Tilt" shortcut key clash with the [Tools] \ [web developer] \ [adaptive design view mode] shortcuts
You can change the shortcut key after starting Tilt by visiting the "Settings" menu in the top right.
Wonderful add-on. However on my Win7 Firefox 15 i do not see the jog dial and other info displayed on left in this page. Am I missing something?
Here's what you need to do (and I agree it's not pretty obvious)
There are two versions for Tilt. You'll need to use the add-on version (since it's different from the built-in one, which you're currently using). Here's a step-by-step explanation on how to get it:
First you'll need to make sure the Tilt extension is installed, because the native Tilt implementation doesn't have such a feature. I assume it is already, but if it's not, you can get it from here.
Secondly, make sure you'll be able to start the extension. Depending on what you've been doing until now, some prefs may have been switched on and off making that impossible. Go to about:config and set
devtools.tilt.enabled to true and
extensions.tilt.options.nativeTiltHello to true
Now open Tilt from the Tools -> Web Developer -> Tilt menu (not from the Inspector!).
You'll be prompted with an update message saying "Press OK to continue with the new version of Tilt. If you'd like to revert to the old version, press Cancel." Press cancel.
Now you're in the "old" Tilt, with all the features missing from the native implementation. Voila!
exelente complemento para desarrollar paginas web.
lo descubri en desde firefox 12 y ahora me he buelto adicto a el cuando desarrollo
Well, it's very useful in terms of debugging as well as hacking... For a programmer it's essential but for an ordinary human it's cool
This is one of the most useful addons I've ever had. Anytime you can see something in a new perspective, you'll learn something new about it. That's exactly what this does. Plus, it's excellent at showing the parts of the web page and indicating what CSS lines effect it. There's a lot more that this can do, but I've just begun using it and have more to learn.
Very Well Made, and runs smoothly.
Gives you everything you need, and is quite enjoyable.
Interesting, but could you add support for the Razer Hydra, or at least standard joysticks; and make the page work in 3d instead of just look pretty?
This is probably one of the more awesome addons I've seen in a while. So awesome in fact that it prompted me to create a login to review.
As a hobbyist 3d artist and programmer, I enjoy working with new ways of visualizing things - considering my job in real life, I work heavily with databases which, of course ,I always wish I could manipulate in 3 dimensions so that I could better understand what it was I'm seeing. This tool is a cool example of how something as apparently "flat" as a webpage can become something awesome when projected in 3-dimensions, allowing you to see what really goes behind the text you read and the layers that exist to construct a web page. This kind of visualization actually can help programmers and designers alike to understand how well-formed code should be constructed and spot errors in sites that are yet to be displayed to the public. Hopefully more development tools get added to this in the future!
ps - the blender export is something I'm going to try pretty darn soon, and if it lives up to expectations, I'm going to love it. :)
Wow! Double-plus kudos! I was all ready to rag on it about it being a 3D display of a 2D structure but I stand (and sit) corrected. It's surprisingly imformative.
Plus, the accelerometer support in my MBP is wicked cool!
Vraiment impressionnant de visionner en 3D une page HTML et d'obtenir directement les détails
Working awesome now. Thanks for the help! :)
Hi! Please file a bug at https://github.com/victorporof/Tilt/issues. I'll be glad to fix this if you can give me more information. The message you quote does not appear anywhere in the source, so I'm sure it's not caused by Tilt itself. Have you tried a clean Firefox profile? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing-profiles
EDIT: This is a known Issue, and it's not because of the addon. See http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/796981 for more information.
The addon will not work if you have Tab Mix Plus installed, as it reserves the CTRL+SHIFT+M shortcut for window merging.
Maybe make the shortcut configurable?
You can change the hotkey from the Options menu after you start Tilt.
AH, MAY, ZING!
Beautiful add-on. I'm not sure how it's going to help me be a better developer/designer, but I'll figure it out because I want every excuse I can get to keep using this.
Wow is pretty much all I can say. Best use of webGL I've seen so far, and very handy for when I'm z-indexing different layers.
Great interface too guys!
Brilliant idea! Wonderful way to visualize the structure of HTML documents.
Totally awesome! I can belive this can be made in a browser! O.O
This works perfectly, awesome!! And to anyone who has problems: check if your hardware or drivers support WebGL first, it's not the extension's fault!
Does not work. Zero effect.
This rocks. Thanks.
