Brilliant idea. I'd like three things:

1) the ability to choose which icons are displayed in the short/unexpanded view

2) the ability to customize the actual word associated with each icon. so instead of "person," that icon could be "blog" -- no use tagging if it doesn't fit the tagging scheme I've already been using.

3) simpler icons. On a large display, the more complex icons are too tiny to make out.

Overall, though, a really great, intuitive idea that has the potential of becoming a "must-have" extension.

Thanks, that´s a great tool if you use many bookmarks!

Excellent Job...
For future development it would be great to have custom tags (icon+tags reference) . For example, I visit video games site a lot and would like to add a tag as "Video Game" to them...

I love this easy way to tag my bookmarks! Just 2 features more, and for me it's worth a five star rating:

- customizable icons (changing the types of icons, which will be displayed/suggested) and
- a "View tagmark tags"-button inside the statusbar or the navigationbar of Firefox (or another proposal: toggling a tag with the left mouse button - like it is - and showing all sites of a tag by clicking it with the right mouse button)

I'm looking forward to seeing the implementation of your ideas! Thx for this great add on!

Great idea. Please keep up the work. Would be a never-do-witout if I could configure which tags appear and to what bookmark folders they point.

Why? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

A well organized selection of folders is the same as tagging for the most part... Yet we do realize that not everyone is so. Should be very useful for those that need a little help with getting things in order.
Tested, works well and as stated. uninstalled for lack of need, not because flaws.

Tremendous Potential Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Want to join others in cheering you on. With the recommended enhancements, this extension will be considered "required" by those of us who use "Tags." Those who don't like/believe in the approach, should not voice their opinion by skewing the rating of this extension.

Great idea, room for improvement Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Just adding to the "customization of the tags" train. It's not very useful to me the way it is, but it is a great idea nonetheless.

I can already tell I won't be able to live without this add-on once there is an option to customize them.

I like it, but there are a few features it needs:

1. customizable display/hide time (keeps collapsing on me)
2. customize icon set (what if I only need 3?)
3. Sometimes it doesn't automatically hide when I'm done.
4. Create a "view tagmarks" button I can put anywhere.
5. Allow us to put "view tagmarks" in the tools menu instead of the bookmarks menu.

I don't get it? Rated 3 out of 5 stars

What's this for? I have a thousand bookmarks, so how would I integrate this into my already bloated system? Obviously I couldn't go through and add these little tags to my other bookmarks, if that were even possible, and I don't think it is, and to start adding them now to new bookmarks would be preposterously confusing.

I downloaded and played with this one a bit, but decided to disable it for now.

I think this is a great idea, and I love the implementation--it just feels like a natural part of FF3's bookmarking utility.

Unfortunately, though, unless/until I can customize the tags, this doesn't add any value for me. I'm sure that options for customizing tags will be added at some point, so I will eagerly look forward to future releases with hopes of implementing it later.

Elegant and functional add-on Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This is a good idea well executed. Tagging using Firefox has been a bit of a pain lately and I miss the old easily accessed folder system despite wanting to make the leap into tags. Tagmarks made native Firefox tagging easy and now I don't miss the folders so much.

I haven't experienced the problem with the icons failing to collapse. My one issue is matching the tags I want to use with the available icons. Good additions would include additional icons (even if not added to taglist.js), web page display of available icons and ability to modify tag names and tag/icon pairings through the options dialog box.

Helpful and visually appealing Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Quite helpful and fun. I second being able to customize the names and the icons. In the meantime, I'll do it myself by editing extensions/tagmarks/chrome/content/tagmarks.js in the profile directory. The fact that i could find and edit them so easily is a sign of quality programming!

Needs customize options Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Idea is 5 star, but no way to customize AFAIKT. I eagerly await the next version! Linux users: use newest version! - on 1.0.0, if you click the expand arrow, the icons won't hide anymore

Looking into it

Hi Charles4Y, thanks for your report. I've seen this bug happening at the Linux version. Are you using Firefox in Linux? I'm definitely going to fix this soon and just wanted to check if it's the same bug that I've seen.
If you can, please send me an e-mail or comment on the project's page to tell me which OS you are using.

Awesome idea for the awesome bar!

Of course, what many people (myself included) will ask for is the option to change the tags used and their icons, which ones display initially etc.
