Should Be Default Rated 5 out of 5 stars

this needs to be built in as previously stated by the other reviewers. good addon though it is needed greatly

There definitely needs to be an option to open links from external applications relative to the current tab, rather than at the far right.

Best, Most Useful and Most Practical Add-on Available! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

My search has ended!

Why is it that we need an add-on for this most essential of all tabbed browsing functionalities?

{shrug}

When opening a new tab, nobody wants to be forced to scroll potentially dozens of tabs away from the current position/tab all the way to the very far right end of the line of open tabs. As a default behavior, that's just absurd and not just a little frustrating. This clearly should not be.

Tabs-open-relative functionality ranks right up there with "Tabs Close and Focus Relative"-type functionality. We want Relative! We need Relative! We don't want tabbed browsing to be completely disjointed and presented non-relatively. And if I'm suddenly forced past twenty tabs to the far right and everything I was just looking at has disappeared off to the left...

Wha...??

That's just wrong. I don't want to have to go back pawing through tabs and guessing where I was last. What if I didn't memorize the page title or whatever? And then I go clicking on this tab and that tab and now everything's out of originally-viewed order and potentially no longer as relativity-driven as it ought to be. UGH!

Aaannnnyywaaayyyy...

Props to Jomel for this indispensable gift to humankind! Thanks to you, tabbed browsing with Firefox doesn't suck even a little!

Can you provide an option for opening multiple new tabs without changing their order? That's the way I like to do things.

All I can say is that this addon makes sense! Why this isn't the default behavior is beyond me, but this addon is essential.

like sebelk said, I don't understand why this feature is not built in to Firefox. It makes things so much more intuitive.

But an activity I'd love to see added is returning to the last viewed tab when closing your current one, instead of just the next one to the left. Avant Browser has that feature, and it's equally as nice as this one.

Nice Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I wish it creates a new tab on the right side of the current tab if the new tab is created from the current tab; if a new tab is created by users (CTRL+T), the tab is created on the far right. In short, I wish it behaves more like IE7's tab opening.

Just the behavior you would expect, with no interference with existing functionality.

Firefox Beta 3.5 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It's alot easier finding the right tab, esp. if you have many tabs open.

Old hat? Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This seems to be one of the hundreds of things that Tab Mix Plus already does. Unfortunately it doesn\'t seem to work in Firefox 3 and I miss this Tab Mix Plus more than anything since I upgraded to FF3.

Excellent! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very simple, very effective, and like many others have said... Why wasn't it done this way in the first place? =:o}

That said, the option to sometimes use the old behaviour (via a right-click context menu) would be a smart addition.

Works only for foreground tabs - at least in FF3b5.

I prefer opening background tabs as standard behavior, and then this extension unfortunately shows no effect at all :-( ... or do I do something wrong ???

Brilliant addon! As Hitmewithit said, why isn't this the default behaviour? Many thanks, Jomel!
