Problem in FF 4 final Rated 2 out of 5 stars

This add-on is GREAT, and I've used it a lot with FF 3.6. It has a problem with FF 4, though: once it's installed and enabled, it hinders tab titles from appearing. All you can read is "New tab" instead of the website actual title, regardless of what website you've opened. Please fix it!

This is best addon for hiding names and icons of tabs. This addon deserves donation! Waiting for update for 4th beta version.

Can't see where to submit bug reports so I'm doing it here. When you add a rule for a tab in a separate window, it blows away all your existing rules—very annoying! There also doesn't seem to be a way to change an existing rule. I would find this useful, since I really don't use this to randomise tabs; I just use this to make tab text more meaningful.

messes up BarTab Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I've used this in the past to help me quickly identify tabs. I'm dropping it now though because it doesn't play nicely with BarTab.

So useful! It's so easy to organize your tabs the way you want them. Very practical if you have to work with a ticketing system, forum threads or KB articles.

Best companion for a happy system admin!
Would be happier to see an update for Firefox 4.0 soon : )

Developer bills this as a privacy add-on. Too bad, because it has another important function. For those setting up a presentation using a web browser, Renamizer compensates for sites which fail to provide brief informative titles. A forum site that lets post-specific pages get labeled "title", for example. If I want to have five tabs open so as to show these posts to an audience (in my case, it's in a university classroom), I can name the tabs clearly and later pull any one of them up without poking around clumsily.

If developer had this in mind, he/she would de-emphasize "random rename" option, and further develop the algorithms for automatic renaming.

For example, scan page for string "Subject: " and name according to the next five words (or less if <br>/<p> is encountered.

"TabRenamizer doesn't work properly on Firefox 3.6."

Actually it's not too hot on 3.5 either, especially if you have any tab bar-altering extensions installed, like TabKit and/or TabFocus. It will not keep any changes.

Yay! This is exactly what I needed. Works great on 3.6.3 (Linux) so far.

Shortcuts don't work Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I can't get it to work on 3.5.9 or 3.6.3. I can not get the short cuts to work. It will only work if i go to tools and press it there. NO SHORT CUTS WORKING :(

Regular expressions Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I think renaming by regular expressions would be incredibly useful, as would successive application of rules. i.e.

hostname: super long title (######), author: category
goes to
first 20 chars of title... by author

No way to accomplish with one rule or a simple substitution, as the category varies as does the number. But searching for a 9 digit number is easy in a regular expression, as is removing everything after the last colon.
