This is a great extension.

I've made the package for ff 8.0. I want to contact the author before publishing it. I read that the project is discountinued, maybe I can manage the extension just to create the xpi for newer version of Firefox.

"Upgraded" locally Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I am not sure whether the previously meant; updated ext. will be approved or not by the reviewers, therefore here is a hint how to make this working locally
for 7.0 and above:

1. On Win7 find:

(On other OS this part of loc. might be the same or similar...:

2.Jump into this .xpi (in Total Commander a simple double click), then

3. edit install.rdf (as you do with a simple text file)

4. replace the data between the em:maxVersion provosts for 8.* then save&close, 'get out' of archive-view.

5. After copy {792BDDFE-2E7C-42ed-B18D-18154D2761BD}.xpi to your Desktop and browse for the option:
"Install an extension from a file"
Browse, etc...

This should make the trick.
I got this ext. back.
Hopefully you all will.

To me, this extension was the only one absolutly necessary, I really miss it. Working with it was so useful and easy.
I will have to go back to an older FF!

Please update it :( It's a very useful add-on. I especially like the keyboard shortcut fuction to quickly rename a tab.

Also, I have a suggestion. Is it possible to highlight certain tabs? I sometimes open a sea of tabs & hence used this add-on to locate tabs. However, I would be nice to also be able to highlight certain tabs too.

Awesome plugin. Easy to use.

Helps me so much every day to keep the overview when several similar tabs are open. For me, it is definitely a must have!

Could you pleeeease update it to FF7 and the upcoming versions.

This is almost great! It need improvement in the management of existing web rename rules. The box provided is not wide enough to see which rules are in which order!

But it is a huge help for me with a web app I virtually live in, but where every tab has the same name.

Bookmark integration was a bit hidden (in options). Might be better to have this as an option on the bookmark.

Someone should update this once-great add-on so it's fully functional with FF4-5.

The addon window says it is not available for FF 5.0, but it still works, to a point. I have no need for the Quick List Titles used by Renamizer, so I delete them, but that is not honored through restart. Next time I start, that Quick List is back, and I have to delete them again.

Tab Resizing Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Once a tab gets renamed to a shorter name --- I was hoping the tab would get resized to save some real estate on the tab bar.

Does anyone know when this is going to get fixed??

I had experienced the same problem as jimmy69999. After upgrading to Firefox 4, tab names would remain "Connecting..." forever, so I could not identify which is which. In the end, I disabled TabRenamizer 0.9.7, then everything was back to normal.
