In the world of widescreens, vertical tabs is the only thing that makes sense. I'm a power user and constantly find myself multi-tasking and forking my work off into tangents - the tree structure and coloured highlighting have been revolutionary and removed the need for me to ever have to open more than a single firefox window. I've been using this add-on for several years now and it's great - thanks! Be sure to grab yourself tab highlighter - a must so that you'll have any clue, which tab out of the 20+ you have open you're currently looking at!

Thanks for your kind review

The original author John Mellor (Jomel) did most of the work I suppose :P
I do love vertical tab bar more than horizontal one too since the original Tab Kit. It is the biggest reason (plus other extensions) for me to stay with Firefox.
Chrome had vertical tab bar as experimental feature once but removed soon after, failed.

Really awesome!
I've been needing this for a long time.
Thanks!

Sorry, there is a mistake in TabKit 2nd Edition.
Closing of last tab in any groupe follows steady switching to another group

Installed on recent FF.
Grouping/Sorting works
But you cant enter any webaddress and press enter, as enter does not get recognized, also clicking on the go address button does not work

i really hope for an update

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.9.9.1-signed).

Thanks you for feedback

There is already an issue opened for this
I will try to fix it when I have time
But I cannot promise I will release very soon since the Firefox release cycle is too short and keep introducing new bugs to this extension

F19.0 Ubuntu 10.04 TK0.9.9.9 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Hi... super addon...

After upgrading to F19 tabs in vertical tree get shadowed (tab ui disappears) when manipulated by mouse pointer... it happens randomly and when scroll bar is used everything start to look like it should...

This is an essential addon for any serious Internet browsing. Although seems sometimes too many tabs (alot) cause FF to slow down after a while.

FF 17.0.1 Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great addon of all time! Thanks developer for his hard work!

Some differences/problems with 17.0.1:
1. middle-click on link does not group by opener.
2. if tabs searched and FF crash, other tabs are lost in restore!
3. tab bar on LHS, will overlay URL balloon when mouse over link.

Keep up the good work : )

Hmmm can you try beta 5?

Although this add-on isn't keeping up with the newest Firefox releases, I am sticking with Firefox 14 just for this add-on. Thank you John Mellor (Jomel) and PikachuEXE!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.9.8.1-signed).

Thanks

I think you can use it with Firefox 16
But it's fine staying at older Firefox

Firefox 17 breaks this addon quite a lot and requires at least a few more weeks to fix them all
Not to mention the time to get approved

But you can monitor the Google Group or Google Plus Page if you want to use beta versions

completely broken in ff15 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Unfortunately sorting Tabs by domain doesn't work in FF15 :(

also the arrows to scroll through the tabs are gone (really sucks when you have a laptop and no mouse with scroll wheel)

Yup it's not working on FF15
I am trying to fix it = ="

I found a strange thing: if you open second window of FF15, the extension is working properly! But in original window it doesnt work :(

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.9.7.1-signed).

Wow Thanks!

Then I think it's related to some object loading issue
Thank you very much for this info! (I mean it :)

Thanks for updating to FF16! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thanks so much to PikachuEXE for updating this during his limited spare time to work with FF16.0.2 (latest stable at this time.) I wish this became part of the standard Firefox distribution.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.9.7.1-signed).

I am sorry about this

Ya I don't even know what happend
Now the tab context menu is moved to the tool menu
They must have rewritten the structure/ID/API

As I am at work now and my main computer's power supply is dead
You might want to stay @ Firefox 14 for a few weeks before I can make it work again

Congrats on the new job. Thanks for what you've done...this is *the* essential FF utility.

On FF 14, which I just installed, the colors/grouping is working but everything is stuck in a single row. Anyone else seen this? I think I'm going to try to backdate, but would rather solve the problem for the current version.

Backdated to 13, no help. What *does* work is to have both TabKit 2nd edition *and* TabMix Plus installed. Multiple rows, TabKit's color grouping available (but not defaulting to when opening a new tab). I'm in a place I can live with.

One other oddness...since the upgrade to FF14 the ability to drag a tab to a new location has been rendered essentially impossible. Movement is possible, but the tab moves to somewhere other than where the pointer is, and the pointer doesn't seem to be under very good control of the cursor.

This is XP, SP3. I haven't seen any Issue numbers, will try to find 56.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.9.7.1-signed).

Just keep monitoring Issue 56

I will try to fix that if I can reproduce the problem
Is it Mac only problem?

Cannot click the "Option" Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I'm using the Firefox 13.0.1,
Sometime I open a lot of webpages, so one row is not enough to me.
When I want to open "Option" and change the number of row,
the system shows some strange message
I capped those message as photo, below is the link

Expect that problem,
it is a great Add-on
I especally like it's group in colour function

Thank you for your work. Only problem is when I place tabs to the right side of my screen, I can't see any tabs. Anyway, pretty good add-on!

**Edit: This is a screenshot so you can see what I meant.

If you look close on the right side of the pic (where the red rectangle is), you barely see the tabs.

The only tab related add-on I have is Colorful Tabs. I disabled that and the issue seems to be resolved. I do like C.T. though.. :( Anyhow, thanks for your response!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.9.2.1-signed).

Create issue with screenshot plz :)

If you think it is a serious problem
You can always create an issue with screenshot (so I know better)
If you got some extension you think might cause the problem, just name them

Thanks! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great to have this addon back!
There is one issue which is bothering me at the moment:
I am also using Zotero plugin and it is not possible to completely close the Zotero pane at the bottom. Clicking the x causes either the tab pane to disappear or the Zotero application tab to open, if it had been opened previously.

Cheers

Great that you're breathing life into what was one of the best tab management add-ons for Firefox! Still rough around the edges though that will improve over time. It's such an important add-on that I might look into contributing in the future.

可以增加側邊分頁的主題嗎?! 或是CSS EDITOR之類的
還有grouping by domain似乎沒有效

I'm sorry, pop-up support and element hiding helper don't work under Firefox 3.6.*. i highly recommend you upgrade to Firefox 11. Official support for Firefox 3.6 will be dropped in 20 days and obviously i can't support an outdated version of firefox although Firefox 10esr could be an exception.

Woohoo! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've been waiting and waiting and waiting to upgrade Firefox, for the sole reason that there was no TabKit. Fixed -- thank you!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.9.2.1-signed).

Thanks!

This is exactly why I take the project
To allow MYSELF to upgrade my Firefox
Distributing it is just a bonus :P

Thank you Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Please, check multiple rows then tab bar at the bottom. Then tab bar at the bottom, only one row is showing.
I have tested in Fx 10 with clear profile.

Thanks for reporting

Could you also create an issue on Google Code so that people (including me) can track it?

Thank you! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It's really wonderful to have the features of Tab Kit back once again. I am one of the many who delayed upgrading from FF 3.6 due to a lack of an upgrade for this add-on. I finally gave up and upgraded a few months ago, but there's really no substitute for Tab Kit, which works perfectly for me under FF 11. Thanks again!

Suggestion: Would it be possible to have an option not to make the current tab's title bold when highlighted?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.9.2.1-signed).

Thanks! And Sure!

I am happy to see that people can upgrade their Firefox without the absence of great extensions :)
I upgrade it since I was also stuck by the original Tab Kit LOL.

There is already an option in "Option" -> "Tabs" Tab -> "Make Current Tab Text Bold". Just un-check it!
