Moving Tab Tree would also move Side Bar. Rated 1 out of 5 stars

If you are using All-inOne-Sidebar addon and try to move Tree on right side, it would move whole sidebar as well. This is very annoying.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.12.0).

Has promise but ... Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Problems:
-when fullscreened, download tabs is open or addon tab is open tab tree automatic closes which is unwanted behaviour
-when tab tree is closed: mouse action hovering over tab switch automatic opens tree tab and together with the possibility that clicking on swicht toggles auto open/close tab on or off.
-This creates unwanted behaviour when hovered over the switch. The tab will open and closed repeadedly when hovered over the swicht and turning it off is difficult because before clicking it the wshitch will move when tab automatic opens (because you have to hover before you close it.
-Used with tab utilities addon tab switch place is changed and the ability to resize tree tab is disturbed. In this matter also used with all in one sidebar addon.
-rearaging icons of tree tab is not possible when tabs are shown in vertical tree mode. It is only possible when tabs are palced horizontally.
This makes adding one icon too much effort when you must go in to the tabkit settings twice for a little change.
-When webvideo (html5 mostly) is played fullscreen tree tab is still visable. When watching something fullscreen you do not want to see anything else.

Enhancements
-overview icon of all available opened tabs is automatic placed at the buttom of the tree and this is an not so logic place for it.
It is better to place this at the top of the tabs, this means not at the top of the tree tab but at the top of all the tabs in the tree.
By doing so the top can be reserved for other icons or as in my case the search bar.
-another ability would be nice to place a forward and backward icon when hovered over a tab that has history.
-more important would be to make the unused space totally transparent and not reserve it for the tab but leave it as is for the webpage.
Slightly different way of presenting tabs in tree style buy hovering them as tree over the page instead of making an whole new tree bar.

Final judgement:
Has promise but is hold back by its limitations.
Must say older tree tabs worked better in general.
With some improvements this could be way better than all of them

A buggy, complete piece of **** and a waste of time, even when it was still being developed.

Excellent addon and the only way I can browse the web.
My only issue is the slight conflict with all-in-one sidebar which causes the AIO and TK sidebars to both be on the same side.
In older versions of FF I had AIO on the left and TK on the right. This appears to no longer be possible. :(

Annoying with vertical tabs Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It seems that that every vertical tab plugin has its own display problems (before this one I tried VertTabBar, Vertical Tabs, TreeStyleTabs in the last couple of years). This one tries to display tabs left-to-right instead of top-to-bottom on a vertical tab column. Sometimes it is working correctly but one false click - you never know which click might be a false one - and it switches to this remarkable display. Then you have the choice between FF new start or switching TK2 options twice - once to tabs on top and second to tabs on right (or left) side. I am using FF 33.1.1.

Doesn't work since FF33 Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Same with treestyle tabs, for some reason the tabs are freezing and not closing after a while, and an underline appears under the tab title, and doesn't let me close. Any reasons why?

The "Always override themes" function in tab color may not working. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I don't know if this only happens to me or everyone, but even though I choose "Always override themes" option, tabs colors still disappear when I use custom themes. When I change to default theme, the colors come back.

I'm also using "Classic Theme Restorer", but I didn't enable any tab color function in that addon.

The FF and addons I'm using are up-to-date.

Thanks for a great add-on, it takes a while to get used to having the tabs down the side of the screen, but like another reviewer said, it makes sense on large screens.

Now I never get used to all browser without tabs on the side
And making Firefox like Chrome looks a big failure for me

AWESOME Addon Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I am so very appreciative of this addon....

I don't use any other browser much because
this addon is the only one in any browser that
allows me to have the tab bar down the side
rather than across the top....

with larger/wider monitors, it makes most
sense (to me, anyway) to have tabs out
of the way/down the side....

Only one issue....

everytime I restart FF, the tabs
all bunch together across the top
of the sidebar and I have to go to
addons, change the selection and
click OK...then, go back and reselect
the option that I want... along left side
and click OK before it works properly....

Other than that, it's perfect....

OS: Windows 7/64 and FF 31.0

thank you sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
much

Good to hear that you like it!

For the issue you have:
Can you open an issue and give more information at (like other extensions, tab or layout related settings)
https://github.com/tabkit/tabkit2/issues
Thank you!

I use Firefox 24.6.0 on Gentoo and two things do not work:
- no option for highlighting the currently selected tab. It has no different color so I do not see which tab is selected
- left and right edge of the window are switched. When selecting left side of the window it is displayed at the right side (top and bottom work properly though)

Please fix this because it really is a great extension and you would get a higher rating!

edit:
changed rating due to reply, thx

THANKS FOR AN AWESOME ADDON!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

All in all I'm coming back from using Chrome becoz FF got messy and doubled or tripled my bookmarks for any reason - x-marks worked wonderful until the owners changed a few years ago and messes all bookmarks up. But that is not my point today.
If there is a bookmark missing in FF I look it up in Chrome, so no problem at all.

But what I really miss is the highlightened Tab with the bold text on the active tab!
I always have like 20, 30 open tabs - grouped of course - but when it comes to find the active one I get kinda desperate. I know TK1 HAD this function and I've used it a lot.

So, please PikachuEXE, if you can find a bit of time, please give us at least the option to bolden the text of the active tab.

Or, much better: a crash-course in "how to edit a FF-addon"? <-----Just kidding ^._.^

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.11.2).

I agree with you, and thanks!

For the bold the current tab text,
it's extracted to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tab-kit-tab-highlighter/

You can install it without restarting, which is good (and works without installing TK2)

Chrome is great for developers or working, but for tab management, nah.

I always said I stay with Firefox mainly for Tab Kit (or if there is another better extension I would switch, but not found yet). So I maintain this extension! (Bug fix and small features only though)

I can't recommend a tutorial for FF-addon because there is none (or at least not for a "traditional addon").
I can give you a few sites if you want, but let's discuss this in GitHub or somewhere else.

Can't get gray background when used with vertical tab bar with Aero Enabled on Windows 7. The background is always see through. No problem with Tree Style Tabs but prefer Tab Kit 2nd Edition

This extension is THE reason I use Firefox and won't touch anything else! So useful! RE: Multiple vertical tab rows? To avoid scrolling, you could make the tabs' height shrink when too many are present to fit in the window.

Not good Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Is incompatible with Vertical Toolbar when using it in vertical mode.

I keep my tab bar on the left and my toolbar on the right. This is not possible with this extension. It glues the vertical toolbar and TK2-vertical together. I can have them on the right or left, but not right and left. This makes it unuseable IMO.

Very fast (compared to TMP) and seems to works well (perfectly integrated with aero).
Only would nice to set/lock tab width under 50px (useful for tree tab if you set to autohide). The only thing doesn't work is the "tab groups": says I've installed panorama, but I haven't any tab group extension (only tab kit)

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.10.4).

Thanks for you feedback

Tab group feature (also called panorama) is disabled intentionally
Because it actually conflict with the grouping of Tab Kit
I might add an option later to enable it, but I won't support any bug with it enabled.

Multiple vertical tab rows? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I would like to use this if it allows more than one vertical row of tabs at a time. I frequently have 60 or more tabs in a group all open at once and would like to be able to see them all without having to scroll up or down a vertical tab row or nesting tabs. Does this add-on include the ability to have more than one vertical tab row if you have more tabs open than will fit in a single vertical row without scrolling or nesting?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.10.4).

Sorry I guess it is very difficult to be implemented

In short, vertical mode is just changing the style of tab bar
And since Firefox only has one tab bar
No matter how I change the style, it's still in one row

Also it will be over complicated to handle overflown tabs in vertical mode (already too complicated in multi-row mode)

Sir, I don't understand you, you claim there is a way to turn off the collapse feature that I am sure annoys the hell out of everyone, and it must be many. THERE IS NO WAY TO TURN IT OFF AND IT'S VERY ANNOYING. Once again, it is that part of your tabkit bar that has a row of dots in the middle that when clicked suddenly closes the bar and is very annoying to try and undo. Second, why won't you fix the "first run" message? It keeps turning off every time firefox is restarted no matter what version I use OR OPERATING SYSTEM. That too has no option to stop in about:config, and there should be. Why is it not there, why is the collapse feature not in about:config at least either? Very annoying! Do you need money to fix this?

Tab Highlighter include??? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Just wondering how come feature from Tab Highlighter that were in TK-Plus were left out needing a second extension? Even just adding a simple bold active tab would be extremely nice to have. Also the tab lock was nice so you couldn't accidentally close a tab without having to manually unlock it. Anyways, great work, decided to switch back to FF from chrome in large part to this extension alone!!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.10.4).

Thanks for your review

It was extracted for a few reasons:
Tab Highlighter's features are stable quite standalone (although it still works together with TK2)
Users can choose to use TK2 or Tab Highlighter only
If any bug is found in Tab Highlighter, updates can be released sooner
Reduce the complexity of TK2 code (still complex though)
