With a little improvement, this add-on would solve the "can't use pinned tabs as home page" problem.
I typically have 3 pinned tabs in Firefox and Google set as my Home page. One of my pinned tabs is Gmail - which I'd prefer for my home page, but you can't do this in Firefox. If Tab Slideshow could be configured to go to a specific pinned tab on start up (after a pause or not) and then stop, that would be great.
It would also be nice if you could specify which tabs to cycle through. For presentations, I often use a number of tabs for a slideshow and also have one or more tabs open for use in discussions after the presentation. I don't want these other tabs to be shown prematurely, so having them open, but excluded from the slideshow would be very helpful.
If you're taking feature requests, these are mine.
the addin works great, but is it possible to delay the autostart of the add-on? I have three startpages in firefox, all needs a password request. I saved all passwords in the firefox, so that just the password boxes has to get a push on the "OK"-button.
the addon autostarts too fast and the result is, that one page is blanked and didn't load.
What would make this addon the most useful thing ever is if you could add a "find" for each tab. Then every time it goes to that tab it refreshes, runs find, and if it finds the word/words on the page it alerts you in some way. If it doesn't find anything it continues on to the next tab. I have been looking for an addon or script that could just cycle through a list of pages, and this addon is the closest thing I've found. If you could add this or direct me to something similar, I could automate a huge portion of my day.
Great addon, pretty much what I've just been looking for! I'm only missing one feature, I would like to only cycle through my currently selected tab group. Then Ctrl+shift+e could be very conviniently used to (re)arrange slide shows.
As a workaround grabbing the tabs into a new window works for me for now.
Excellent suggestion! I don't use tab groups so it didn't occur to me that the extension was doing something out of the ordinary with them. I'm submitting a new version (5.0) with tab group support, please review it if you have a chance so I know if it's what you were looking for.
It's a kewl add-on for sure which we use to cycle information in the office. It's plain and to the point but I have two fairly strong wishes;
* A pause button would be MOST appreciated. As it is today, you need to disable it in the setting and reboot in order to stop it. When discussion what you see, it's annoying to keep clicking the correct tab that tab slideshow constantly change.
* When clicking a tab (manually overriding the slideshow pace) I suggest resetting the timer to the maximum. Having a 10 second timer, if you are on 9 seconds when selecting a tab, it flips to the next after a second. So I would suggest setting it to 10 (or whatever is the defined value under options) again.
Would just like to say what a great add on. Have used it in many different circumstances, especially at work on the back computer where i use a redundant computer to display the webpages of the different sites we have.
One addition i would love to see, though not sure how useful it would be to others, is to be able to add a random time element to it. So say you had your slideshow set up for 5 minutes gap between display, have the ability to add x amount to it, which would be a random amount between y and z values.
I like the way this works, simple, smooth. Why though the need to reload each tab just before switching, which (in my case) means most pages don't even get finish loading before their display time is over? After all, tabs are usually already loaded if they exist at all, right? If not, please consider addition of a checkbox option for load/no-load.
