@Jomel Thankyou for your hardwork. I can't wait!
Just seen your post -- yes please! Everyone here will love you forever....Just let us know when it is done. Thaaaaanks!
Hello guys! Sorry for the delay! I have a lot of work! Updating the next week! 4 & 5!
Guys I think the developer is dead, killed by a car or another thing... :-(
It's true. This has gone on -- and we've had to do without -- for far too long. But then, people are the least reliable creatures in the world.
Let other developers take over. Something. It's not fair to be this far behind. We depended on your fine plugin for years, and now, with FF4.0, all we get is zip.. radio silence. It's not fair. Many would pay you for the upgrade. At least tell us if you even plan to upgrade. I not, we can just remove the plug in and find a substitute long term. Thanks.
I desperately need tabkit in firefox 4. So I've put an alert on this page so I can reinstall it INSTANTLY.
FF 4.0 is absolutely no good for me.
So I'm ok with my non-updated FF 3.6 where this awesome addon works perfectly fine!
Firefox 5.0 coming 2011-06-21.
Think there is no reason to wait updated TabKit version until that moment.
This September may be? ;)
Please - PLEASE upgrade to Firefox 4 compatibility. Can't give 5 stars until you do.
I've upgraded to FF 4 and I'm missing a lot the addons !
When will it be available for FF4 ?
(This addons is in my view much more useful, with more functionality than "Tree Style Tabs")
I like tabkit, but John could you please do what is common sense and make an option to do away with those hideously colored tabs, no color changes at all? Why not allow users to use firefox's default scheme? Also why not allow users to determine what colors they want, including highlight colors, and if they want the whole tab highlighted, or in the ugly way you have it, which is just a highlighted rectangle over the text area? - http://truthkeeper.tk
Awesomeness included. Same thing, I won't upgrade to FF4 without this module!
I join the list op people unwilling to upgrade to FF4 without Tab Kit support and am perfectly willing do donate a small amount of money to accomplish this. Good software takes time to write and maintain.
And if FF add this feature? its possible to suggest this to Mozilla?
This is really a helpful add-on.
Very helpful and reliable if you use multiple tabs. I've used this add-on for almost as long as I've used Firefox, and I consider it so indispensable that I never install a FF update without first checking to make sure that it will be compatible with Tab Kit.
Add me to list of those who won't upgrade to FF4 without Tab Kit.
I wish the developer would open a Kickstarter project to see how much cash he could secure in advance to support his work.
I've used this for ages and love it. I'm not going to upgrade to FF4 if I can't get vertical tabs from somewhere. I've not seen anything worth trying yet.
I've used Tab Kit for 2-3 years and have found it to be excellent, and better than anything else which gives vertical tabs. I'm prepared to pay a contribution for a version which can run all functionality on Firefox 4. If Jomel doesn't want to do it, could somebody else do it? Unfortunately I don't have the IT skills.
Hence I installed and then immediately uninstalled FF4. The random sort-by-colors group is a beauty in a bland world. Programmable indentation and highlighting of unread pages are gems I now cannot do without. Definitely a donation worthy product. Hope John will update this one for FF4. Thanks again.
Nemu, I also followed your instructions. Tab Kit installed (apparently) properly, I have the same problem Ohed did... cannot get a vertical tab bar. Tried resetting Tab Kit to default settings, tried turning all Tab Kit features off, then back on. Nothing works. Any other tricks you can suggest to get it working?
I absolutely love Tab Kit. It is a must have. However, right now I am stuck with Tree-tabs, a much less desirable method of obtaining vertical tabs in FF4. Please update Tab Kit! I have tried the hack to change max version, however like already reported this does not allow vertical tabs unfortunately. If I'm not being to brash I would like to say "Thank you!" in advance. :D
Man, I wish I could program! So I don't have to be so dependent on Tab Kit. Amazingly simple program, but this developer Jomel is the worst...6 months to a year will pass before he updates it. Please - someone who can code - please make a reliable vertical tab add-on so we don't have to rely on this slacker developer.
Nemu, followed your instructions. FF4 starts fine but can't get tabs to go vertical. Looks like we'll have to wait for Jomel to come out with a fully compatible version. Hope it's soon because my productivity is suffering since I lost vertical tabs.
For me works fine with FF4.0, just download the .xpi file unzip it, open install.rdf with your favorite text editor and set MaxVersion to 4.0, save and zip it again (you can just rename .zip to .xpi after zipping). To install just drag and drop the file on the browser.
Is this still an active project? Last update was late September 2010 and no sign of FF4-support.
Would be nice to at least inform the users if the project has been scrapped so we can seek other alternatives.
