Been using this theme for years. Worked great in the early version of Firefox, but tabs and menus started to look weird when the updates started to roll. Incompatibility with FF20 was the last straw, and I stopped using this theme, but thanks for the great experience these past years!
Real reason I stuck with this theme was for the back/forward drop marker, which I didn't know could be downloaded as a separate add-on... Nevertheless I'll miss Strata Reloaded theme until I can find a replacement.
best theme for me in FF
For those of you who updated to Firefox 17 and are experiencing compatibility issues with "Strata Reloaded", here is a workaround:
1. Install the "Disable Add-on Compatibility Checks" add-on from this link:
2. Then in Firefox 17 simply navigate to "Add-ons" then "Appearance" and you will once again have the option to enable "Strata Reloaded".
The theme is *mostly* compatible with the new Firefox 17, but some things just won't display properly, for example: The new tab page is all messed up, and a few other minor issues!
I contacted the author about an update for the theme, but he said that it's very unlikely and that he basically discontinued it's development for good. So my suggestion is to stop using it!
You can actually make the default Firefox theme very similar to this one by manually importing the awesome unique "Firefox start button" from this theme into a style for the "User Styles" extension (or into userChrome.css). This is done by extracting the *.xpi file and manually copy-pasting the CSS code and images associated with the button from the theme.
There's also a user styles extension called "Firefox: Choose your color" which can alter the Firefox default theme's color into the slightly darker one used in "Strata Reloaded", so in essence it becomes almost identical. Lastly You can also get the classical Back & Forward round buttons with an extension called "Classic Toolbar Buttons". So with all of the above, you can essentially duplicate this theme with the Firefox default theme, and phase this one out for good, there by also avoiding any incompatibility issues with the new versions of Firefox :)
Is it impossible to remove RSS icon in addressbar?! :-(
A nice theme, but it would be really great if you could make the theme consistent thru out by making the Add-on bar the same light blue color as the rest of the theme, and by fixing the white letters when hovering over the menu on New Tab, Bookmarks, Options & Help in Windows XP. Thanks in advance for listening to the suggestions & making the amendments accordingly.
I agree with previous comment ; The theme ... amazing ; The lack of it on Thunderbird ... a pity . I assume it may probably be because it is necessary a big amount of work to implement it. 'Strata Reloaded' on Thunderbird sounds as too beautiful to be truth. Thank you either way.
Love the theme. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because it is not available for Thunderbird.
Please port it to Thunderbird.
Where's the fix release 2.6.7?
get it here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/strata-reloaded/versions/2.6.7
A perfect theme, but it is not compatible for Firefox5. Waiting for author's updates!!!
Fixed in 2.6.7
Love your theme! Works well on Firefox 5, but in Aurora (Firefox 6) the Extension, Appearance and Plugins icons displayed on the About:Addons page are distorted and hashed. Doesn't work on Nightly (Firefox 7).
Fixed in 2.6.7
Love it, thank you
[ This theme looks cool for my Firefox 6.0a1. But why the size of the .XPI file is so big if this theme only change the icons? ]
Because it supports many versions of Firefox and different operating systems.
A beautiful theme!
However I have noticed a bug with Windows XP, Windows XP theme, light gray colors combination: in the Firefox menu some entries are highlighted according the system theme and others according your theme, in which, moreover, text are white on a very clear background. Please fix it! Besides the line that separate text from icon is misaligned and passes through text. Finally, two suggestions: put some more icons in the menu and redesign the RSS and reload icons, whose quality is a little worse than others.
This theme is the best I've found for firefox under linux. I was looking for a way to get Strata under linux, and was delighted to find something even better! As others have said, it works very well with KDE- much better than the default theme.
One small suggestion-- with the appmenu button on the tab bar in linux, it's rather long and cuts considerably into my tab space. If it could be shortened in some way that'd be great.
A very compact and nice looking theme for Firefox, I love the colour and the rounded tab shapes. Gives a fresh feel when compared to the default theme when using Firefox 4. However I have one qualm, the activity circle does not show up on the Help --> About Firefox menu when it checks for updates to Firefox.
EDIT: Also the Download Status indicator is missing the arrow in the Customise Toolbar window.
Stuff I don't like in this theme:
RSS icon in addressbar
weird stop and reload buttons
app button takes too much space (text+icon is bad, only text is good, only icon is very good)
then you should try a different theme...
I had incorrectly identified this theme as causing some problems with my Firefox 4, but after finding the true source of the problem, I can enjoy Strata again. It really enhances Firefox's appearance nicely.
Wunderbares Theme, ein dickes Dankeschön.
A VERY BIG tanks to the developer!
I always have found annoying that FF in KDE (Linux) looks rather uglier compared to Windows. This theme not only gives FF the same appearance, but it looks even better!
Why is this not the default theme for Firefox for Linux?
I found this post in the Mozilla forum that explains how to make this (or any other) theme compatible with Personas: https://forums.mozilla.org/addons/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=2636
Kudos to Rob64rock and Spunker for the solution.
This theme looks FRESH in KDE (Kubuntu 10.10). I'm using it with oxygen-gtk and small icons (since the bookmarks, adblock, etc. buttons look better).
Great theme; I've only two suggestions: the Firefox menu (not the menu bar) don't have colors by default because some themes on Linux make it a bit ugly :x
And the feed icon is stretched. Check this screenshot: http://image.bayimg.com/paebbaadl.jpg
Hello, Status bar have not color in Firefox 4, I hope you can fix it in the nexts updates.
Great theme. Thank you!
