When used in conjuntion with Hide caption extension you can't midle click bookmarks in bookmarks bar.
There are more incompatibilities between these extensions than the one you note. At least most of them should be fixed in the next version of stay-Open Menu. The issues arise because 'Hide Caption' has also implemented stay-open-on-middle-click behavior, in a bit different manner.
Possible (temporary) workarounds:
1. Other extensions similar to 'Hide Caption', but which do not affect menu-closing are available. For example, 'Hide Caption Titlebar' and 'Hide Caption Titlebar Plus'. I have not tested them and cannot specifically recommend them, but they should not cause these issues. All (including 'Hide Caption') are 'Experimental'.
2. Use ctrl-click instead of middle-click.
3. When the next prerelease version of Stay-Open Menu becomes available it will be posted at: http://www.shadetreeapiary.com/extension/Prerelease/index.htm (for those who'd like to help test).
at last just wat i was looking for..
at last just wat i was looking for..
Much needed ~ Thank you ~
thank you!! exactly what i need :]
A+! Shame on default FF behavior! :)
Ive been needing something like this for a LONG time. One question. Is it possible to extend this to the Bookmarks/History Manager?
Thanks. Not sure exactly what you want here. \'Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks\' and \'History > Show all History\' open a new window and you can have more than one window onscreen at a time, if you are wanting to open multiple items from there, or often the sidebars can be used instead. If you mean the Organize, Views, Import and Backup menus in the Library staying open, I don\'t think there would frequently be a need to click multiple items there before closing the menu. If you would like to discuss this further, please use the support forum or the contact form linked from the extension\'s homepage.
nice feature and the plugin does exactly what it says. :)
Great extension, works well!
Just what i've been looking for...
On request though
Could you add the feature to also stay open after you click on "mark as read"
Awesome. Except, I don't have middleclick, and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one. Not that my computer doesn't have a middle click button, it's just a Synaptic device, so it doesn't work. Please make your shortcuts more customisable. Nobody likes pushy bindings.
This should be official part of the next Firefox release.
BEST, BEST, BEST, BEST, BEST.
the middle click works, but ctrl doesnt anymore whhyyy!!!!!
If you need help getting this to work, please use the mozillazine support forum at http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=633732 or use the contact form linked from http://www.shadetreeapiary.com/extension/ and include details, does the bookmark open but not keep the menu open or what exactly happens, do you have Ctrl-click configured, OS, etc.
A Must-have ! I can't thank you enough custom.firefox.lady !
Great Job !
It would be better if middle button replaced by a key from keyboard. I use a MS mouse and i have assigned middle button to magnify. I should restore to original settings MMB to work for Stay-Open Menu.
You can use Stay-Open Menu 1.4 with Ctrl-click instead of using the mouse. See details at homepage to enable: http://www.shadetreeapiary.com/extension/#config
great addon! but sadly it s not working with the addon Personal Menu. :( can this be fixed?
I have confirmed and noted the incompatibility and will examine whether it can be resolved. Thanks.\r\n\r\nPlease report bugs/incompatibilities via the contact form linked from the homepage or the mozillazine forum, rather than in the reviews.
Another 'must-have'! Thank you for fixing Fx flaw - hard to believe any body would want menus to work the way they're in Fx w/out this great ext.!
This really prevents the hassles of having to continuously open bookmarks menus to open several bookmarks.
I have a lot of bookmarks, and finding them is difficult, so when I see them I open them. Having to re-open the menu is cumbersome, so this is the Perfect Addon!!
Thanks so much
I actually asked for this a feature for FF3!
Stay-Open Menu is *exactly* what I requested... I thought I couldn't be the only person who needed this!
Works great with Boox, Tab Mix Plus and Tree Style Tabs.
Older v1.0 is 5 stars. Breaks original ABH as well as ABH2. I downgraded immediately - ABH is a must-have!
Idea is great! Skip the upgrade.
A fix for this compatibility issue is planned for a future version of Stay-Open Menu. For now, yes, I recommend the older 1.0 version for those experiencing this conflict. Details at the homepage.
Feature Request: The same for the urlbar-Dropdownmenu :)
Unless you have an old mouse, the scrollwheel is also the middle-click button. If yours is not clickable, then you can either go out and buy a new mouse, or use ctrl+leftclick on links to open them in tabs. "ctrl" is a key that is usually found on the bottom left hand corner of a PC keyboard.
I didn't realize how much I wanted an add-on like this until now. I kept getting annoyed with weaving my way through my Bookmarks to click on bookmarks in the same neighborhood, but then kept forgetting about the annoyance to get on with surfing. THANK YOU!!!
*happy happy clicking*
Now I can open a rss live bookmark selection and then select another without having to "reopen" the menu again. Brilliant.
Only problem I had, if you use tabmix plus - make sure;
tab mix plus/events/tab opening/[ ] middle click opens items in current tab. (uncheck)
(tab mix plus ver. 0.3.7pre.080728)
