Why was Stay-Open Menu created?
I first saw an older add-on that could keep the menu open, mentioned on the Firefox support group. However, I was planning to move to Firefox 3 soon and the add-on was no longer being updated and would not work with Firefox 3. My first thought was 'oh, well' and I intended to just pass it up. But then I started to wonder if I could make this feature work with Firefox 3. »Q« from the support group helped test my experiments and encouraged me to submit it to addons.mozilla.org. At some point it got to be fun, so I added a few requested features. Eventually I started middle-clicking bookmarks out of habit, even without needing the menu kept open. Out of my annoyance at then manually closing the menu, the idea for the auto-closing option was born.
What's next for Stay-Open Menu
Adding any new translations by Babelzilla. As always, there is testing for compatibility with newer versions of Firefox and fixing any issues as they arise. I run various prerelease versions of Firefox myself, so I tend to fix any compatibility issues ASAP.
