Excellent add-on! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Ever since Mozilla abandoned Prism, I had been searching for ways to create any sort of small web app with Firefox, and found the only alternative was either to use Web (epiphany) or Chromium (Chrome). The sad part is that even on Windows, IE and the HTA host allow you to do near the same thing. But now... this add-on is here!

So, if you ever wished you could create an application shortcut, web app, or something like a hypertext/HTML application (or HTA) on your Mac or Gnu/Linux, look no further. The add-on uses the No Restart feature, so when you install it, it will add itself to the navigation bar/top bar without needing to close all your tabs (nice). But enough about it. Here is what makes it worth it.

You simply start by going to your website (or any that you want to convert) and from there, just click the red rocket. On Mac, it should be in Applications. On Gnu/Linux, it should be inside $HOME/.local/share/applications with its resources stored at $HOME/.app-appid . Overall, I really like it -- and whatever bug with the links that I thought I read has been solved. Links work. This is a really good job, and I'd BEG the developer to continue! This is great work that feels like something Mozilla designed, flat awesome, and is an excellent add-on! If you haven't already, add it to your Firefox collection today.

Great Add-on, but needs improvements Rated 1 out of 5 stars

This is really a great Add-on, but it needs some improvements. Unfortunately it seems that the development is abandoned like Mozilla Prism. :(

Should be core feature Rated 4 out of 5 stars

A lot is not working yet, but nevermind: This should SO be a core feature of Firefox. I'm grateful we're finally getting anything at all.

good but .. Rated 4 out of 5 stars

this was the addition i was waiting for a long time. i'll be happy if two features are added:

1. ability to close language check. (right click does not work)
2. ability to hide menu bar.
3. ability to use stylish with.

Chrome apps for firefox Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This extension is very helpful. I like the chrome apps but chrome has several disadvantages. This extension gives my the possibility to use apps with firefox.

A drawback is that I can't open links within the wepapp.

runs perfectly, could use some extra features Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Runs perfectly on El Capitan. But it could use a few extra features, for example settings to determine which links to open in the app and which to send to the actual browser. Also, it would be neat to allow the injection of custom scripts into pages, to integrate the app more in the OS. Would you consider open sourcing Standalone?

It's open source! Would love to have contributions :D

Works very well on Ubuntu Linux 14.04 with Unity.
A tip for rob5 and others who are interested to userstyle the website:
Create a folder named chrome inside the *.default-directory. Put there a file called userContent.css with following content:
@-moz-document domain(example.org) {
/*Put your styles here */
}

Good add-on. I was looking for an equivalent to Chrome's Application Shortcut feature. This is it.

Some of my plugins like the program for Battlefield/Battlelog aren't working with this. And my extensions don't seem to work with it either. Last Pass doesn't autofill and such.

It's been a long time I am seeking for something similar. I can turn my own webapp into real desktop app. Perfect

Only got one problem : how to get rid of sec_error_unknown_issuer error when trying to connect ssl with self-signed certificate ?

Wonderful add-on !
Was waiting for that feature in Firefox.

On linux (XFCE and plank dock) with 2 standalone apps : both apps (for example flickr & facebook) use the same dock entry (first launched)

Works well on Linux. It could be improved by customizing the .desktop file with a better icon instead of the favicon and changing the webapprt-stub executable name to something more specific to the site.

Excellent webapp-to-launcher for Ubuntu unity Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I was able to create standalone apps for facebook messenger and c9.io ACE editor IDE, they work perfectly!
Would like to have it show notifications in Unity launcher bar but the way it is now is absolutely fine!
