Found a workaround for my previous issue- the wildcards work in all fields, not just the ones where they are entered by default. So, the Spamgourmet domains that are not included can be coded as a "custom domain" address and configured automatically. Definitely five stars! Hoping this is compatible with 4.0 or will be soon, as it is amazingly handy!
I vote against inclusion of sneakemail.com as it no longer sports a free option and the pricing for what it offers is ludicrously high. I would rather setup a shared webhosting account and install TMDA
To make this work in 3.5x: 1. Go to the All Versions page (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addons/versions/8057). 2. Right-click on the green "Add to Firefox" link and select "Save Link As" to download the .xpi file. 3. open the .xpi file in 7-zip (Windows: 7-zip.org, Linux: code.google.com/p/k7z, Mac: kekaosx.com). 4. Find install.rdf -> Edit -> change 3.0.* to 3.5.* 5. Drag-and-drop the .xpi file into a Firefox tab. 6. ??? 7. Profit!
This is the most convenient anti-spam email addon I've tried so far. However, I suggest the same things as Toni said. And additionally I recommend to use a drop down list in the options. This way it is much easier to add more services. At the moment, the options dialog gets more and more confusing, because you use a tab for each service to switch to its preferences. That uses a lot of space. With a dropdown list of services that switches the options field, it would be much easier. Also you would have more space then to use the tab switching for the global preferences.
Wow, I can't believe it! You added another service!!! So fast! Thank you so much!
As for tempomail, there is an addon here already from tempomail themselves. So maybe they give you the source or maybe it's easy to find out what it does by observing what the addon does. I don't know much about coding, but as far as I've seen it's possible to unpack the xpi and look what's inside. And it's obviously under GPU license. http://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3883
And here's the English version of their website: http://tempomail.fr/index_en.html
Thanks again so much! This is really the best anti-spam email addon out there!
Very handy for controlling what email addresses you give out. I especially like the feature that lets you give an automatically customized addressed based on what site you're on when you fill in the form. Author is responsive to suggestions, which is also nice.
A very good tool to help make protecting ourselves from spam a little easier. I mainly use SpamGourmet and have for years, this is something I've wanted for awhile. I can see this being one of the next great add-ons for Firefox, up there with Adblock.
