Why was Autosort Future Lineups - Yahoo Fantasy Sports created?
Yahoo fantasy sports does not currently support sorting players by rank. Yahoo has only a "Start Active Players" feature. This is helpful. However, it places players into the starting roster seemingly at random. Like "Start Active Players", this add-on will start the day's active players. However, Autosort Future Lineups goes one step further and adds a sort by rank feature.
In the event that there will be one or more players benched, the program will decide which players to start and which players to bench. The program determines which players to start based on player rankings, specifically the 7- and 14-day "Actual Rankings". Finally, penalties may be applied for players who are injured or not active.
What's next for Autosort Future Lineups - Yahoo Fantasy Sports
For the future of this add-on:
-Add more options for the settings.
-Add options designed for Rotisserie leagues.
-Add Yahoo API support.
-Add an auto-run feature.
The auto-run feature might be run when visiting a specific URL, or there might be a radio-button type setting to turn this on and off. In auto-run the program will run by itself based on the program's saved settings. Player rankings seem to be updated by Yahoo daily. So, adding an auto-run feature will let users update their lineups automatically, if desired. This might be useful as a bookmark tool; or, the browser could be made to open daily at a set time of day, navigate to the Yahoo sports homepage, and then automatically update the rosters of a user's leagues.
