FANTASTIC Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This has been one of my pet peeves for a long time. I tend to use that bookmarks bar often, and it tends to get unwieldy.
Thank you thank you thank you !

It works great and gives me just what I need.

Choice of Mouse-over Field Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I'm giving you a '9' because you've made a great extension to do what many were doing by hand, all within a simple interface.

If you are ever able to develop the option to choose which field displays on mouse-over -- specifically the Description field [see Bugzilla 135962] -- you will be a hero amongst extension developers!

One of my favorites Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've been using this cool little extension for quite some time, I do allot of OS testing and install FF quite often and I always load Smart Bookmark Bar as one of my "Must Have" add-ons.

Sure you can do it another way..in several steps, this solution requires no user input and the resource usage is barely measurable.

Thank You for a great little space saver!

Umm?? Rated 2 out of 5 stars

You don't need this extension to just get icons on the bookmarks toolbar. Just right click any of your bookmarks and in the bookmark name part, erase the name and leave that part blank. Then press ok, and... ABRACADABRA!!! The bookmark is an icon and not an icon+text.

Great extension! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This extension is great for saving room on the screen! I've put my bookmarks right on my navi bar. Cool!

Bookmark Toolbar Rated 4 out of 5 stars

when I select a bookmark the selection lets the toolbar extend a few pixels. the result is that all tabs and the displayed page move down a few pixel. this is pretty annoying and destroys the cool hover-effect!!! :(

Excellent addition to FF Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This should be built in to the next build of firefox with a right click on the bookmark toolbar you should be able to turn this on and off, please consider this as a permanent feature to this awesome browser.

Love this! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I love this add on, the only reason it's not a 10 is that I would like to be able to have TWO rows of bookmark icons someday :D

Oh Sweet Automation! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

THIS extension, together with Favicon Picker 2 make for one splendid team! For about a year now I've been doing exactly what this extension does, but MANUALLY of course. Great extension: your time and effort is much appreciated. :)

Brilliant Idea Absolutely Superfluous Not yet rated

I give Smart Bookmarks Bar a '5' rating for implementation and concept, '0' for being overengineered/superfluous.
I've been able to expand/enhance my Bookmarks Toolbar browser space exponentiallyby displaying 'icons only' in my Bookmarks Toolbar just like Smart Bookmarks Bar *without* the need to *install* *anything*!

Here's how to do it:
>Bookmark the site on the bookmarks toolbar
>Right click the link
>Scroll down to Properties
>Delete all text from the name:field
After which all that remains is the site's very own icon
that by default doubles the available real estate on your
BM Toolbar space without placing extra burden on your available RAM or having to deal with the inexplicable
effect some extensions are known to cause.

Bonus Bookmarks Toolbar Space Expanding Tip:
Did you know you can add folders *directly* to the BM
Toolbar that both expands browser space/enhances productivity and convenience?

>Click on Bookmarks Manager/Organizer
>Place your cursor on the location within the BM
Toolbar you want your new folder to appear
>Click 'New Folder'
>Name the folder
>As you *can not* place an icon in the 'New Folder' name:field, add a brief one/two letter title/designation
to identify your new folder as it appears on your BM Toolbar. You can now bookmark any site directly to
whatever folder on your BookmarksToolbar browser
space you designate that expands/enhances your
browser space real-estate exponentially.

Something wrong with v1.2? Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I LOVE this extension. But...since I updated to version 1.2, at least half of the favicons in my bookmarks bar display their full text titles as well, and half do not. I uninstalled v1.2 and reinstalled v1.1, and everything's fine.

I'm running the latest version of Firefox (default theme) on Windows Vista, and have had no problems with other extensions.

I'll stick with v1.1 and a rating of 5 until this weird bug in v1.2 is fixed, and then the rating'll go back up to 10! :)

=Feature Request= Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Can you add a fish-eye effect? It will look much better, and more user friendly when scanning through your bookmarks toolbar.

Oh, Hells Yes! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This was an excellent find for someone who likes a clutterless browser/desktop.

One idea I thought could make a nice addition to this add-on would be to have an option to increase the size of the bookmark icons.

Regardless, this is a terrific extension! I love it!

V1.2 Much Better! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Thank-you Remy Juteau. Version 1.2 is much much more effective, and a real boon for Firefox.

I heartily recommend this now to my friends and colleagues as a much cleaner and more efficient way of booking marking your top 20 or so favourite sites.

The human brain (and probably many alien brains too) more quickly focuses on pictures rather than text, so I have used the new option to switch off the text. Very good.

Only remaining niggle is that I would still like to "fix" sites without a favicon. V1.2 does help here, but does not allow you to replace the icon.

Just one note Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Is it possible to make the constant displaying of directories’ names an option? I tend to have no more than one directory in my bookmarks toolbar, so I don't really need the name displayed, and it takes up room I could use for other things. I really preferred the old way.

Other than that, I'm a huge fan of this extension.

Awesome Add-on! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is an awesome Add-On! I have one suggestion and one complaint.

Suggestion - It would be really cool if you could make the tabs do the same thing. You know, compress and then show the text when you mouse over them.

Complaint - after the auto update today (March 26/07) this add-on stopped working. :( That is my only complaint.
