I've used this add-on successfully in the past with little issue. However, recently, I began noticing that Firefox was behaving very erratically, consuming high (90-100%) CPU regularly, especially on sites such as RapidShare and - oddly - Google News. My PC would essentially hang due to the excessive processor & memory usage until / unless I manually restarted the browser, whereby the cpu would work at low levels briefly, only to escalate on these same sites all over again. Suspecting a Java issue, I uninstalled and updated Runtime Environment, but the problem persisted. Finally, following much research, I decided to disable my list of Firefox add-ons one-by-one, checking memory and cpu use with Task Manager upon each and every restart. Once I disabled this add-on (SkipScreen) the problem was immediately solved. The browser again works perfectly. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I have the latest version of FF installed, as well as the lastest version of SkipScreen. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.3.20091214_AMO).
