Anything which encourages people to do some checking before they spend money or use a service has to be worthwhile. But the degree of worth in the case of sites offering anonymous and unverifiable reviews depends entirely on the honest and considered opinions and experiences of the reviewers. There are some sites I wouldn't rely on anyway, so an add-on wouldn't be worth bothering with, but SiteJabber looks to be developing a smart and caring community with angry ranting and self-promotional spam kept to a minimum. I'd definitely use this add-on to check out their reviews before taking out my credit card, and I'll be more likely to post my own experiences of a site too.

I have submitted a lot of issues and they rarely bother checking on things. This could really be a great service if they would get their act together.
- by Richard_Odin_Johnson, 5 years agoRated 2 out of 5Before unsettling information came to my attention [see below] I wrote a fair number of reviews for SiteJabber (as "Richard J.") and still contribute some on occasion, because in principle SiteJabber provides an excellent service--and it's for that reason that I don't give this extension the very lowest rating.
The problem is that SiteJabber's administration is sloppy at best and its reviews lack credibility. In October of 2014 upon composing my own SiteJabber review of HelpOwl.com I glanced at the other reviews of that site. I know HelpOwl well as I've been contributing to HelpOwl for years, under the name of Odin. I was surprised to find one of the reviews contained a blatant factual misstatement [that Help Owl demands money of its participants]. Despite my alerting SiteJabber to this falsehood, the review in question 13 months later remains, unqualified by any comment from SiteJabber.
I had previously brought to SiteJabber's attention its misclassification of Amazon.com. This is important, because users seeking reviews will search in classifications of interest. My repeated inquiries of SiteJabber brought only double-talk. It would seem to be an easy decision to classify Amazon under General Merchandise, since, as you may know, Amazon sells a formidable variety of all sorts of things. Instead, to this day, the only classifications visible to the user are Books, Ecommerce Tools, and Electronics.
