A wonderful time-saver Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Before I discovered this add-on, every time I went to shopping websites with no option to switch to euros, I had to manually convert each and every price. This was very time consuming when I had a lot of prices to compare.

Well, thanks to this really useful add-on, I can save a lot of time by having the converted prices displayed instantly! It's really easy to use while being really useful, something a good Firefox add-on should be in my opinion.

So if you often have to convert prices, take a look at this extension, it is well worth your time!

Thank you! Glad to hear you find it useful :)

Wonderful + Please add an option. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This addon is A 5 star hands down. So simple yet so useful for folks like me who shop from UK and US but from another country with different currency.

PLEASE: There is only one little mod I would like to request (for a little more advanced users like myself). If there was an option to set a little +/- markup (or down) so the displayed figure and my actual expense would be closer to each other.
To explain better. I believe the add-on uses the mid pricing for the exchange rate. Noone ever gets those rate real world, thos are just for backs. We usualy get street price with some little markup like 1-4% depending on the currency. Also paypal (which is what most poeple use to purchase ebay item from other countries) has a extra transfer fee from the exchange-rate). Every time I buy something from the UK it will cost me the current medium exchange rate (this is display correctly by your addon) + 4% (this is made up of exchange markup + paypal fees) = the real amount changed to my card.

So for example. Today I buy something on ebay which is 198 296 HUF the addon shows me that that is ~ 189,000.- in my local currency (HUF) then when I go to actually pay for the item paypal charges me 196,000.-HUF. This is due to the fact that they have some commission on the exchange rate.

If you added and option then users can set some % markup so that the amount displayed would match the amount payable even more.

From the above example I would add (as a constant) +4% to the amount display and then this would make the price display match the price to be payed via paypal.

This would be OPTIONALLY so only people that will set anything here are people that actually use/need/understand it.

Thank you for your consideration!

EDIT: What a wonderful developer, her already added the requested function. Enjoy all.

Thank you! Done in version 1.0.7

Tiny Improvement Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thanks for fixing the "Das iPhone 3GS - Jetzt bei o2 CHF 238 sparen"-bug!

I haven't used your add-on for a while now and I decided to reactivate it. And I have to say that I'm very satisfied and happy with it!
It's a very useful tool mostly when browsing the "steam"-shop because they don't display prices in CHF but only in USD, GPB and EUR.
I am really saving a lot of time thanks to your add-on :).

There is a tiny improvement I'd like to propose:
I like using ' to separate thousands. It would be great if you could implement this.

Keep up the good work!

EDIT:
Thanks for your fast reply! Man you're awesome ;).
I haven't tested it yet because the newest version still seems to be 1.0.4. Maybe it'll get refreshed later on.

Meanwhile I have another tiny improvment:
I noticed that when I don't round the result in francs I may get something like 190.23 CHF which is kind of wrong since francs only exist in 5-centime steps.
I'd be glad if you could fix that in one of your next versions (e.g. 11 cent = 15 cent, 23 cent = 25 cent, 38 cent = 40 cent etc.) - but it really isn't urgent plus I don't want to bother you ;).

10x for the review

Thank you!
Added ' to separate thousands, please install 1.0.5 :)

Doesn't convert Rated 3 out of 5 stars

does not work on firefox 9. I tried it on yahoo japan and amazon japan, there is no change.

EDIT: Sorry, misread. It would be nice to have asian currency conversion rates such as Japan Yen and Chinese currency.

Also, if it could auto-convert the price in the page without use of manually pushing a button. Thanks.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.1).

Of course it does not work on these sites. As stated in the add-on description: it will convert only dollar, pound, euro and rubles currencies to any other currency. It will not convert yens. So the add-on didn't deserve the rating of 3/5. If you want converting yen, you could ask to add this feature to the next update

edit:
The add-on remembers the last state (enabled/disabled). So if you push the button and turn the add-on on then it will auto convert till you will turn it off.
I'll see if it is feasible to add Japan Yen and Chinese currency in the next update
10x

edit2:
There are some difficulties to implement these:
1. ¥ is used for JPY and CNY. so it is impossible to choose automatically what to convert
2. There are many different symbols for Asian currencies

To implement these the design of the options should be changed.

Great Extension! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This extension needs a update for Honduran Lempira (HNL)... please correct currency to € (euro) and $(USD)

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.1).

What do you mean by updating the Lempira? the currency rate is not correct? Or it doesn't convert correctly euro and dollars. Or in your country it was replaced by euro or dollar?
I've checked it on amazon.com and amazon.de. Both euro and dollar prices are converted correctly with currency rate used from Exchange Rates UK service

Nice plugin. Can u make it work on html title as well?
<img title="About MYR1,646">
Coz GSMArena store all price value in img title.

search in titles will really complicate the functionality, I think it is better for performance issues to not implement this, sorry

Great addon Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Do you think it would be possible to add an option for displaying the original price in brackets after the converted price? It would be great.

Thank you for proposing a new feature! I have added it to new version 0.9.7. Please install it from Version information (it is not reviewed yet by Mozilla team)

Great Converter Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Love the converter. It works great most of the time. May I suggest a couple of things:

1. Visual indication on the toolbar button showing it's working. :)
2. Customize currency formatting. For Eg. "INR" to "Rs." as we're used to seeing the latter instead of the former.

Other than that please keep up the great work!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.0).

Thanks for the input!

I've added the support for custom currency symbols in version 0.9.2
Also the button now reflects the status of the add-on

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Would be nice if developer can add support for more major currencies, e.g. CHF, Yuan and Yen.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.0).

Do you mean these currencies as a source currencies, for example converting them to euro?

Highlight Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Can you please add an option to highlight a converted currency so we instantly know if it's a converted price or not without constantly turning on-off the converter? Showing the original currency on mouse over is a nice option too...

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.7.8).

Thank you for the review

It were implemented in one of older versions, but caused many problems to some pages where original the HTML structure is important. Maybe will try in the future to implement this feature

Simply useless converter Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Does not work half the time, not at all on a secure site, and its not user friendly at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Nice one, works (almost) perfect. I've found that it can't recognize the currency if there is a space between the currency symbol and the amount (for example www.focalprice.com)
Keep the good work on!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.7.8).

Thank you for the review! The problem with focalprice is that the currency symbol is found under different html (text) element, so finding such patterns will have an impact on the performance so for now I haven't implemented this feature
