I think the most useful version of shas are the PDF pages on hebrewbooks.com/shas . They give standard tzuras hadaf and yet are cut-n-pastable text.

Another site to link to is he.wikisource.org ; they have pesuqim with Rashi and Ramban, part of the Arukh haShulchan, siddurim, etc...

Last, there are numerous sefarim on daat.ac.il rendered in color HTML.

I agree with matthewafox about the Hebrew Books search. In addition, I would love to see the option of searching the copies of Mechon-mamre that I have in my local drive, so that I can use this search when I'm offline.

This is a very well made add on -

1. would be nice to simply have it as an additional plug in search tool engine below my other favorite engines -

2. Worth looking into its possible expansion, as suggested by developer (R. Sarna) on prior response

This sites provide several thousand PDFs of Sefarim:

The amazing thing this site has done is not just scan the Sefarim into PDF's, but it is also able to search all of these volumes for key terms phrases. Though not as comprehensive or robust a search engine as the Bar Ilan project for example, if you have an idea what you are looking for I think you will find it a thrill to have it a few clicks away !

מעולה! הערה קטנה: search רושמים ככה: חיפוש, ולא חיפוס

This is a handy tool, but appears to simply replace the page:
in a nice interface.

Like the other reviews mentioned, the more texts it can search, the better. Personally, I would like to see a search of English translations.

I never would've found Mechon-Mamre.org if it weren't for this plugin, though. Thanks for making it accessible.

Wonderful add on!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I'd like to second the compliment of the previous review.

Please continue to update this extension as Firefox moves to the next version.
I'd like to suggest expanding the search to include Midrash Rabbah as can found at this Tsel Harim site:

Other exciting texts online are there as well:

Don't know how involved it might be to expand the search capabilities of this add-on to include those texts. But it sure would be a boon!!!

Thanks for the link. Next time I get around to updating the addon I'll make sure to add anything searchable on tsel.org. It has some great resources.

If anyone knows of any other digitized texts that would be appropriate additions to this addon, please let me know.
