Small feature request Rated 4 out of 5 stars

If you set ShowIP to not to resolve IP immediately, it shows the domain name of the current website instead. Please add an option so it shows NOTHING when it's not supposed to resolve IP.
For example, the perfect way would be to show a small icon in AddOn bar and when you click on it, it would show the IP of the current website.

Yes it's useful for showing your public IP for your country.

I've just done some research on this plugin, as NoScript kept flagging a url for ip2info.org from home here. I recommend using the WorldIP plugin. Seems that the ShowIP addon is not only displaying ads if you don't disable that part of it, but it is also sending info about https sites and other sites you visit to this German company for who-knows what reasons. I see it as an invasion of my privacy and view it now as an unsafe plugin to use.

I AM COMPLETELY ASTOUNDED THAT WITH ALL THIS RESEARCH THAT MOZILLA STILL ALLOWS THIS TO BE DISTRIBUTED ON THEIR SITE. THEY HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED AND HAVE IGNORED THE NOTIFICATIONS FROM SECURITY RESEARCHERS.

ADWARE, CROSS SITE JS SECURITY RISK Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Includes javascripts from third-party websites on visited pages (inserts it even in WYSIWYG editors which is dangerous because it may get included permanently on ones site - popular CK Editor affected)

ADWARE: during some upgrade there came to existence checkbox "show ads" switched ON by default (does not specify how are the "ads" being displayed).

Used to be good, now absolute garbage Rated 1 out of 5 stars

This used to be a very handy, unobtrusive add-on. Now a steaming pile of crap. Injects ads into the DOM, including auto-playing videos with audio. Extremely annoying, uninstalled.

Contacts a thirdparty site with every Link I visited / Kontaktiert einen unbekannten Server mit jedem von mir besuchten Link Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Verwendete dieses addon seit mehr als einem Jahr. Nach dem letzten Update werden plötzlich Infos über jede besuchte Webseite an ip2info.org geschickt, worauf ich das Addon deinstalliert habe.
Empfehlung: Keinesfalls installieren, andere Addons erfüllen denselben Zweck.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Used this addon since more than a year. After the last update it contacted suddenly the site "ip2info.org" for every Website I visited.
Therefore I removed it immediately.
Recommendation: Do not install, use another addon.

Injecting ads into webpages Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Update introduced ads in the browser. A Google search result has 3 grouped boxes of ads (9 ads) injected into the result page. Ads injected into other sites as well, breaking layouts.

Browser Hijacker Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Just spent a good part of my afternoon trying to figure out why my browser was getting hijacked with ads and pop-ups appearing on websites. After two years of working just fine, it turns out this piece of trash extension is now nothing more than scumware.

Aggiunge inutile pubblicità alle pagine. Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Hate ads? DO NOT install this plugin Rated 1 out of 5 stars

During a recent update this plugin now has ads build in to your webpages. This also puts ads when you paste. We recently sent a ton of ads to clients because when we pasted in the email body this plugin pasted an advertisement. We noticed that the ad included "Show IP". Not recommended. Instead I recommend the addon "World IP" Does all the same things with some added features and NO ADS!!!!!!

Just Uninstalled this because It was not allowing me to comment or chat on google+
I tested it twice again. If showip is enabled then one cannot comment.
If you click on the comment field. It just stays that way. You can select "add a comment" text in there.
Normally the comment field expands and then you can start typing in.
Also when you click on anyone in your hangout list. IT opens the chat box but it only keeps loading(the chat box is white but the title of the box says "loading").
Disabled all plugins and enabled them one by one.
I wasted more than an hour cause I never expected this plugin to be the cause. SO I disabled this in the end.

Please update this. While I go to mozilla forums and share this issue with others as I see a lot of people complaining about not being able to comment on G+

This plugin has the worse security issues I've seen so far in a plugin. It sends ALL your URLs (including local traffic, and HTTPS) to third parties, including Google, and some ADS service.

AVOID AT ALL COST.
