  • Keep up the good work and… thank you!
  • A rather brilliant creation in particular with the additional code provided in where send by you messages can be displayed in italics and give them a light-green background to have them stand out. Previous Eudora users especially will appreciate that! All features work perfect!

  • This stopped working for me some time ago. The Correspondent column just shows exactly the same as the From column, which is useless. It was great when it worked, though.
  • It would be easier than to have to configure all of my "From" addresses. By default this addon gets most of my Sent emails wrong, thinking they are incoming. If it's in "Sent", it's outgoing!
  • What an excellent addon : I could not work without it
  • In my local folders which contain discussion threads the correnspondant column list the "from" field which in many cases is me, rather than the person who I sent the note to.
  • How did the Thunderbird devs overlook such a basic and necessary option? Thank you for writing this important plugin.

  • I don't need the From column in my SENT message/thread pane and I don't need the To column in my inbox. This replaces both with 'Correspondent' and an arrow pointing in or out. PERFECT!
  • This is something I searched for a long time!

However, the default symbols "<<<" and "<" for "mails just for me" and "list mails" should be exactly the other way round: more "<" signs for more recipients.
  • Useful with "Copy Sent to Current" add on
  • I still love this extension and have been glad to donate in the past. But why is it now only available for Linux? Is there a way to install it on Mac too I would think? I wanted to install it in a new profile and the page says "not available for your platform", never happened in the past. UPDATE: I downloaded the xpi and installed from the file on Mac OS X 10.8.5 and it seems to work fine.

UPdate in response to dev's response: I don't see anything wrong in the options dialog. What is the problem? (I'm not a dev who can help, I am just curious). I installed the linux version and it seems to work fine on my macbook.
due to a problem in the options dialog, which seems to not run correctly on Mac, the AMO reviewers refuses to approve the add-on for the public. Therefore i had to uncheck the 'runs on Mac' checkbox. Probably anyone can help with the options dialog?
  • "This is normal behaviour since this column only contains an icon"

On my system the column wasn't even wide enough to fit the icon and couldn't be resized. But the newer version you referred to fixed it :-)
  • This is must have tool for every TB installation
  • I really like the way it works and that it is highly customizable via userChrome.css.

But unfortunately it stopped working with TB20 (Earlybird). It now shows the size of the email instead of the name.
You can download a fixed version from http://www.ggbs.de/extensions/
  • Is there any way to make this addon work with

    https://addons.mozilla.org/af/thunderbird/addon/sender-name/

So correspondant mails are seen as they are in one's address book?

    Thanks!
  • This is a really logical step, but after years of viewing things the traditional way, this really takes some getting used to.

I'm not so sure how many would stick with it, but I can see definite benefits for those who do.
  • Splendid extension!
However, it is hard to watch the indicators icon by a color done select of. (The light select color is hard to watch an ”indicators icon”.)
I think that a white icon is preferable as for "indicators icon" done select of.

  • Show InOut is great. I can't use an email client without anymore. It should become part of the main Thunderbird. Version 0.7.3 is not working well on my Thunderbird 3.0.2. Mails sent by me as shown as 'in' someimes. I stepped back to 0.6.2.
  • Problem resolved with the other extension. Again, thanks for a critical improvement to Thunderbird!
  • The SenderName 0.4 extension (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/5296) that was recently updated to work with Thunderbird 3.0 seems to break the ShowInOut 0.7.3 extension (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/reviews/display/3492) extension -- there is no crash, but the new columns of ShowInOut are no longer available. Not sure which extension is responsible. Both extensions are excellent and I think many people would want to use them concurrently.
  • I like it, because it makes the message-list more clearly presented, even on small netbooks-displays ... Thanks for it!
  • Great extension, another that makes you wonder why it isn't built into TB in the first place. The author's page describes how to change the formatting for In and Out mails and also how to change the icons to make them easier to distinguish. I format 'Out' details in italic and slightly smaller font and point to a non-existent icon for outgoing mails so it doesn't display an icon, to make In and Out easier to recognise.
