Works perfect for our Monitoring Screen Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Excellent add on for keeping a session live that has an inactivity timeout. This saves time and patience. Without this tool the session would timeout and require a login and the navigation through menus to get back to my Monitoring screen for our Business Intelligence application.

Current implementation only allows one site to be configured. Since I work with development and test sites too it would be a splendid addition of functionality to allow configuration of multiple sites.

Session keeper is not compatible with Firefox 26.0 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have heard that session keeper is a fantastic addon of Firefox...I also tried to use it..but it is notifying me that it is not compatible with Firefox 26.0. I will request the author to make it compatible with the latest version of Firefox.

Nice! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Made an account just so I could write a five-star review for this add-on. I use it for a financial-type site, which has a ridiculously short time-out period. It took me a few tries to get this thing to work, but once I got it, it works flawlessly. Nice work!

Nice concept but does not work well or virtually at all with my bank's website, MBNA. Very hit & miss mostly miss.

Thanks for this nice and useful add-on. I also had a problem with company webmail (session expiring to soon).

For people who are looking for more info about settings: I just filled in https://webmail.company.com as start session and ping URL. I left stop session section as it was.

Thx, it's a great idea and it works perfect with OWA 2010!

For those who need multiple session management, I have created an improved version of this add-on:

Lifesaver Rated 5 out of 5 stars

THANK GOD for this add-on! Logging on to my work email on a Microsoft Exchange server was getting unbearable with a 5 minute inactivity reset whenever I was composing an email. I kid you not, I have 144 drafts in my Draft folder because it always timed out on me. You have no idea how irritating it is to have to go back and click or type something every 4 and a half minutes if I made a phone call or something.

great addon, but I would prefer a configurable List for at least 3 URL.
1 URL for a forum-junkie is not really enough ;)

I use an ISP that allows me to set up email forwards. I use these forwards (almost 400 of them now) to give each website where I register an email address with some variation of that website's name in it. That way if a company associated with that website starts spamming me or selling my email address, I can just turn off that one forwarding address and put an end to their mischief.

The ISP website where I set up these forwards has a five minute timeout, and the login process takes almost two minutes. This is a royal pain, so this add-on looked to be just the thing I needed to keep the page alive. I installed it, took the default settings and it works perfectly! Kudos to Guillaume Boudreau for his efforts on this great little add-on!

Only 1 URL? So I can not keep sessions alive for several web sites?

I installed this at my university 2010.11, let's see if this will work.

Works Great - Thanks Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Worked perfect for me first time. Great time saver for a site I want to remain on and periodically use.

Thanks,

I would update my first review, bumping up the stars, but firefox will not allow me too. Instead, I will add five stars to even out my one, and give my final review of this application 3 stars. (even though I still haven't been able to get this to work yet, but I appreciate the creators efforts to email me)

I emailed Mr Guillaume Boudreau, and he responded 1 month, 2 days later, I hope he doesn't mind me sharing his comments, which will explain a lot, and will may help others:

"This was developed for TouchTunes...So they
own the code, not me. They agreed to open-source it, thus why it is offered here. And why they appear as editors. I do not intent to offer support, nor do they. Thus why it's not my personal website that is listed in the add-on page.

I don't have a Bank of America account, so I can't test with that website.

Does the red square in the lower-right corner of your browser window become green when you log in your account. If not, you'll need to find another Start Session URL.

If it does turn green, it's the Ping URL you need to change. Maybe BoA ignores loads of the GotoWelcome page when they count for timeout. Find a page that, when refreshed manually in the browser, keeps the session from timing out.

Other than that, I won't be able to help further, as I'd need to be able to access the website to debug."

Just to let you know, my Bank of America coding I shared above does make the red square green, but the page still times out. Unfortunately, manually clicking any page keeps the Bank session active, so I am back to square one. I will post any solutions I find, and would appreciate any help I can get in coding. I will see if there is a bank of america forum which I can post my question too, and get other bank of america customers with firefox to help.

Simply does not work.

I have tried repeated times to get this add on to work on Bank of America's website. It will not work with these settings:

Start session:
https://onlineeast3.bankofamerica.com/cgi-bin/ias/A/1/bofa/ibd/IAS/presentation/GotoWelcome

Stop session:
http://localhost/Logout.jsp

URL to ping:
https://onlineeast3.bankofamerica.com/cgi-bin/ias/A/1/bofa/ibd/IAS/presentation/GotoWelcome

How often:
5 minutes

In addition the Homepage listed, http://www.touchtunes.com is not the editors homepage, it is some commercial page.

Potentially useful tool but agree needs ability to manage multiple sessions.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.2).

Good, except pointless restriction to just one site Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Very good thx, but why do you object to using this on lots of sites at once? If some idiot sets it up for their bank site and gets scammed, it isn't your problem :-)
