I've tried to set this up with my saved passwords, and it doesn't work. It won't work for westlaw, or any other site. I can't add information to it. And while it recognizes my stored passwords, it won't fill in the fields.
westlaw.com, like some other sites prevent Firefox password manager to save passwords for their login form.
You can still save passwords for these sites by using a "remember password" bookmarklet:
(this is also explained in the FAQ of the integrated help of Secure Login)
Secure Login defintely works for all login forms that Firefox password manager can store passwords for.
How to login with Secure Login is explained in the integrated help - you can also read it online:
erleichtert mir die Arbeit
täglich, wüste nicht mehr was ich ohne machen sollte.
Vielen Dank für das tolle Add-on
Superb. The most useful function of all is the ability to MANAGE saved passwords, so as to eliminate duplicates or ones you wish you hadn't saved.
Thanks for the praise - though the ability to manage saved passwords is a built-in feature of Firefox password manager:
Secure Login just offers a convenient way to access the password management window by offering a menu item for it.
Not secure, basically it stores all the passwords in a unprotected format. A click of a button and everyone can see your passwords. Not Cool
You should understand that Secure Login does not store any passwords - that's done by Firefox integrated password manager.
Secure Login just improves the security and ease of use of the login process.
You can read more about the security of Firefox password storage here:
To protect your passwords from other users using the same account on your computer you should set a master password:
I was spoilt by the Opera login wand as a developer, having to login and test Rich Internet Applications' login with different access level to the same site.
Firefox's native login manager does not handle multiple login IDs to same address, this was a headache having to remember those numerous test passwords. Using "Secure Login" add-on, has afforded me the same ease of remote login management that I enjoyed with Opera.
Much thanks to the developer, for such clean code.
it great job. it would be nice if this was included in firefox package
a must-have plugin
i agree it would be nice if this was included in firefox package love it great job
i love this Add-on, great job!
At first (before i saw this one) i thought of using Autofill forms extension to fill my login forms instead of filling them myself every single time. but now i think i will continue to use this one!
Does everything it says it does. Excellent job!
I absolutely love this extension. It should be included automatically with Firefox. Sometimes I forget I have it and start typing in the password, but it's saving me loads of headaches.
Only one suggestion - could there possibly be an option so that it will automatically log you in, so that you don't have to click a button every time?
This should be built in.
This adds a feature I liked about Opera. This is a great addon. Thanks!
This is sweet.just like the wand in Opera that I used to use.
I just love this extension. I stay up with the Nightlies and now loggin to test stuff is as easy as with my regular version of FF.
The only reason I don't give this a 10 is because there is one thing missing from this otherwise excellent add-on. I think there should be an easy way to change passwords in the "saved passwords" section. Other than that, job well done!
So far, it's done everything it's advertised to do. I wouldn't have thought that going through the autofill fields would take so much time until this extension came along. Awesome extension.
Opera has its wand. Firefox has its key.
How about adding a feature: show Secure Login icon when you hoover over the login form? (for those lazy people like me, who want to use the mouse and don't want to look for the icon at the toolbar/statusbar to click)
I always loved Opera's wand. It's very to see more of Opera things coming to Firefox!
I would never logon anywhere without this great little add-on. Don't leave home without it!
