As a former Opera snob who loved her wand, I appreciate this great extension.

As advertised, it makes Firefox functionality closer to Opera. This release doesn't seem to be able to handle the Opera keyboard shortcut though - using CTRL+ENTER as the shortcut key submits the form without any input!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.3).

Keyboard Shortcuts

Not all shortcuts might work on all platforms (Windows, OS X, various desktop environments on GNU/Linux).
Often, keyboard shortcuts are already registered for the operating system, Firefox itself or another extension.

If a form is focused, CTRL+ENTER will submit the form on Firefox, as this is a built-in functionality of Firefox.

Awesome, but I'm sort of scared to use it since it doesn't come with a privacy policy!

Verschlüsselung und Passwortschutz für Passwörter? Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Master Passwort

Secure Login erweitert Firefox integrierten Passwort Manager:
http://securelogin.mozdev.org/drupal/wiki/Password_Manager

Passwörter werden in Firefox Passwort Manager verschlüsselt gespeichert. Ist in Firefox ein Master Passwort gesetzt, ist auch die zugehörige Schlüsseldatei geschützt.

i find it very useful indeed. wondering, if there was a way to delete old saved user names? i have 6 old names i want to delete from list..anyways, kudos!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.2.9).

Deleting old saved usernames/passwords

* Right-click on the Secure Login toolbar button (the golden key icon).
* Select "Saved passwords..." from the menu item - this will open up the "Saved Passwords" dialog of Firefox Password Manager.
* Clear the content of the search box or type in the website name for which you wish to delete usernames/passwords for.
* Mark the usernames you want to delete and click on the button labeled "Delete".

I loved Opera's wand when I used it. It's the only thing I still missed after switching to Fx so my transition is complete.

Secure Login is an absolutely outstanding extension to the Firefox Password Manager. Together with the Autofill Forms add-on, the combination is a credible alternative to paying for closed-source software like Roboform. THANKS Sebastian!

I love this add-on. It is simple, reliable, and very useful.

What's wrong with those reviews... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It is really surprised to see an addon have been kept on rating low due to comparison with a commercial product (its free version is almost useless) associated with a bulky tool bar.

Such reviews are really not helpful for users to see whether this addon is buggy or if there are any other better alternatives. What a shame on OSS culture!

BTW, thank you for developer's suggestion to us to have a look on the discussion on Secure Login + Autofill Form.

Allen: because RoboForm is easier to synchronize, make portable, is more versatile and works in multiple browsers? If you don't need any of that, this is indeed a good alternative.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.2.9).

Portability and Synchronization

The portability of RoboForm stops at different operating systems than Windows.
Secure Login + Firefox Password Manager can be run on any platform that runs Firefox. If Firefox is installed on the target platform you only need to take your Firefox profile with you.
And Secure Login can be easily used with the Portable Edition of Firefox , too.

Backup and import of your passwords stored with Firefox Password Manager is quite easy and doesn't require any additional tool:

And for the synchronization of all your Firefox data there is Mozilla Weave, which works seamlessly with Secure Login + Firefox Password Manager and is a product of Mozilla:

Regarding versatility I would say you should have a look at Autofill Forms, which can be integrated into Secure Login:
